Job Description

We are looking for a collaborative, customer focused, results oriented leader to manage the planning, development, coordination and implementation of revenue generating facility rental and retail operations while contributing to the continuous improvement of service delivery.

Note: This position includes occasional weekend, holiday and evening work.

What can I expect to do in this role?

The successful candidate will:

  • Oversee, plan and manage the development and delivery of strategic and targeted facility rental sales and retail services that are responsive to the needs of clients while considering organizational priorities and mandates

  • Maximize revenues through effective use of the Centre's existing programs and physical resources and the identification of new business development opportunities and revenue generating offerings

  • Develop, implement and provide expert advice on organizational policies and procedures related to the delivery of sales and retail operations

  • Foster, maintain and manage relationships with internal colleagues and external partners to remain informed of opportunities and trends while ensuring a strong commitment to customer service at every level


How do I qualify?

Leadership and Management Skills:

  • You have demonstrated leadership skills to coach, mentor and manage staff, set clear departmental goals, provide consistent feedback, conduct performance evaluations and create developmental plans
  • You can create and foster an inclusive work environment with employees and stakeholders to strengthen engagement and promote innovation and creativity
  • You have knowledge of human resources practices, policies, directives and collective agreements in relation to recruitment, training and development, and labour relations to support an inclusive and engaged team


Program Delivery and Technical Skills:

  • You have knowledge of general contract and sales agreement structure to negotiate and finalize procurements and sales and rental of programs and facilities
  • You have experience analyzing trends to make recommendations that will address needs and to create policy and business plans for short and long term driven programs
  • You have knowledge of and experience in the event and retail industry and business contacts that will help the Centre achieve its goals
  • You have a broad understanding of science and technology and the ability to maximize programmatic opportunities to further corporate goals
  • You have knowledge of financial administration to prepare and execute budgets and to develop, manage and control allocated financial resources
  • You have knowledge of sales and marketing techniques and theories to promote products and program offerings
  • You have knowledge of special event and retail delivery in a cultural/entertainment venue


Communication and Stakeholder Relations:

  • Communication, presentation and negotiation skills to successfully consult with internal and external clients at various levels while meeting or exceeding set customer service standards
  • You can establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate information flow and identification of issues
  • You have experience in consultation and negotiation and demonstrated integrity, good judgment and tact when managing and resolving issues
  • You have written communication skills to prepare reports, correspondence and briefing materials
