Overview

As a Manager in the Office of Strategy mmanagement (OSM), you'll lead a team and provide oversight and guidance in strategic planning, project management and management consulting practices, business process improvement principles, and development and visualization of business measures. You'll work closely with enterprise wide business partners on cross divisional initiatives and divisional planning.

This is a tremendous opportunity to provide confidential advice and guidance to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on enterprise priorities, corporate programs, and strategic initiatives.

This is a hybrid role that will primarily work from home and occasionally attend the Richmond office.

What you'll do

As a Manager in the Office of Strategy Management, you will:

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of advisors and/or analysts within the Office of the Strategy Management
  • Lead and manage senior level business planning projects, strategic planning, and business transformations across the organization
  • Take a broad, organizational view to aligning ELT priorities and measures with divisional strategic initiatives
  • Partner with the Heads of Divisions to deliver assurance to the ELT and Board of Directors (BOD) on reported divisional results
  • Consult, support and provide advice and guidance to the Heads of divisions and other senior divisional leaders in priorities and identifying key issues needing support and responsiveness
  • Participate in strategic and business planning and decision making regarding OSM departmental initiatives and projects
  • Provide leadership and participate in the formulating of departmental plans, determining priorities and objectives and implementing OSM business plan initiatives
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration in achieving business objectives and departmental priorities
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of departmental measures, take appropriate action to modify plans and redirect activities to meet departmental objectives
  • Conduct consultation with internal and external stakeholders, provide expert mediation and facilitation for key stakeholder group discussions
  • Manage and direct staff in maintaining high levels of service
  • Manage the financial resources within the allocated departmental budget

Your experience and educational background:
  • A graduate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Strategic Management, Management Consulting, or Senior Project Management and a minimum of ten years of related experience.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in data analysis, strategic planning, business analysis and management consulting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to build positive and productive relationships, and gain credibility to effectively lead cross functional/organization teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Well-developed presentation and public speaking skills
  • Experience leading and managing a team is an asset
