About the Role
The Manager Office of Indigenous Education in the Faculty of Education provides operational and administrative direction for the Office's staff, volunteers, programs and initiatives to develop and enhance services for Indigenous faculty, staff, and students. The role works closely with the Faculty's Associate Dean Indigeneity; the Indigenous Education and Reconciliation Council (I.E.R.C.); and colleagues throughout the Graduate, Undergraduate, and Professional Program areas of the Faculty. The role is responsible for community outreach, including Indigenous units and committees throughout the University, local Indigenous communities, community groups, funding agencies, schools, school districts, and various communities and organizations.
The ideal candidate has strengths and experience in:
Communicating with and on behalf of Indigenous students, staff, and faculty.
Liaising with community groups and individuals to identify opportunities to develop or enhance initiatives and services to support Indigenous faculty, staff and students.
Welcoming and hosting Indigenous Elders, scholars, artists, guests, and events.
Fostering opportunities for learning and collaboration.
Connecting faculty, staff and students with resources to support decolonization and Indigenization.
Supporting the development and administration of Faculty policies and procedures as they relate to Indigenous Educational projects and programs.
