Manager of Projects

to join us at our facility on Annacis Island in Delta. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team and make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and fast-paced fabrication environment.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Project Services, the Manager of Projects will oversee all aspects of project execution - from planning and coordination through close-out. You'll lead a team of project managers and support staff, working closely with estimating, production, detailing, quality, and client representatives. This role is critical in maintaining project delivery standards, optimizing resource allocation, and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Highlights of job duties include:



Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Project Management Office, ensuring successful delivery within defined scope, timeline, and budget Oversee the execution of all active projects, from initiation to close-out Establish, implement, and monitor standardized project management processes and best practices Monitor and manage project timelines, budgets, change orders, and client expectations Collaborate with Ideal Welders department leads for resource requirements (i.e. production, detailing, quality, etc.) Identify and mitigate project risks early and effectively Interface regularly with clients, vendors, and internal departments to ensure alignment Mentor, coach, and develop project management team members Lead project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives Focus on retaining current clients by delivering exceptional service and identifying opportunities to create new projects and expand business with these clients

Here's what we're seeking in the successful candidate:



Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent Minimum of 8 years' related experience Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role managing a PMO or multiple project teams Experience in estimation, budgeting, analysis, scheduling, specification review and adherence, and personnel coordination Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills Ability to lead under pressure and solve problems in a deadline-driven environment A background in general metal fabrication practices (cutting, welding, machining, testing) A background in procurement and supply chain principles and strategies Commitment to customer service and workplace excellence Ability and desire to utilize technology to streamline and improve processes A positive and team-oriented approach to work. Dependable and trustworthy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software such as Microsoft Projects or others

Experience in the following areas would be considered an asset:



Experience in working in a unionized environment and with multi-disciplinary trades Process pipe fabrication Pressure pipe/vessel fabrication Structural, modular fabrication and assembly ASME, API, ASTM, CWB codes of construction Review of assembly drawings, isometric drawings, 2D and 3D shop fabrication drawings Project logistics, i.e. material receipt, product shipment etc.
