POSITION PURPOSE

:

The Manager of Nursing and Personal Care is a member of the Glebe Centre Leadership Team and will be responsible for the daily management and operations of the Nursing Department reporting to the Director of Nursing and Personal Care. The Manager manages the delivery of clinical services within the Nursing Department and ensures compliance with legislative requirements (MOHLTC and CNO), The Manager will oversee and advocate for quality resident centered care and provide direction to the nursing staff to ensure policies and practices are followed. The Manager collaborates with all departments to ensure the best practices and compliance requirements are met and demonstrates proven leadership and support in nursing practice.

QUALIFICATIONS

:

Mandatory - RN license in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Registered Nurse (RN). 3-5 years of management or supervisory experience in a long-term care organization. Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Sound understanding of documentation standards. Critical thinking and sound problem-solving skills. Thrives in a fast-paced environment, with multiple competing priorities. Outcome-oriented and able to achieve desired results. Demonstrated leadership skills. Excellent computer skills/knowledge and familiarity with scheduling systems. Ability to work in an on-call after-hours rotation. Updated immunization record and Vulnerable sector check is required upon hire.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Operational Results



Maximize team performance through the effective and efficient utilization of resources, including optimization of RN and RPN scope of practice. Utilize projections in determining and forecasting resource needs. Compile, analyze, and evaluate data to support evidence-based decision-making. Implement communication strategies to promote shared vision and collaborative working relationships. Engage with and support special projects or new programs as required.

People Management and Team Development



Regularly evaluate performance and ensure the development of skills and competencies. Coach and manage employees and consult appropriately with Human Resources. Interview, select, hire and onboard/orient new employees. Follow employee relations/labour relations processes and relevant policies and procedures. Facilitate and maintain team development, by providing opportunities to support staff education. Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements (Employment Standards, WSIB, Health & Safety legislation, etc.).

Quality Service Delivery:



Manage high-risk issues, conduct complaint and incident investigations relating to client/employee issues, and develop appropriate risk management action plans as appropriate. Respond to client feedback and service inquiries in a responsive and timely manner. Ensure client care plans are appropriate and executed consistently. Communicate with staff and stakeholders in an effective and timely manner. Lead development and implementation of nursing policies and care programs Ensure compliance with MOHLTC regulations and internal standards Collaborate with Director of Nursing and Personal Care to provide clinical oversight, support staff coordination, and quality initiatives. Collaborate with the Manager of Education & Skill Development and Personal Care Supervisor to promote care continuity for residents. Management of the RAI-MDS Program, Nursing Rehabilitation and Restorative Care initiatives Facilitate recruitment, orientation/onboarding, and human resource support for Personal Care and Nursing staff. Address and resolve resident and family concerns with compassion and efficiency Lead designated clinical programs (e.g., wound care, falls prevention, medication) Conduct audits, monitor clinical documentation, and support compliance Manage and ensure safe, efficient use of supplies and manage department budgets

All employees are expected to hold in confidence information about residents, clients, and members. There is also an expectation that information shared between team members or other staff is confidential unless otherwise specified. Prevention of Resident and Client Abuse is primary and there exists an obligation to report abuse or potential abuse. Resident and Client comfort and safety is a primary focus of the Glebe Centre. Employees are expected to meet their obligations as far as scheduled hours and shifts are concerned. Regular attendance and being on time ensure resident and client safety and team functioning. Showing respect is an essential requirement of all Glebe Centre employees. The Glebe Centre's Violence and Harassment Policy defines and elaborates harassment and violence in the workplace. Any violation will be taken seriously.

HOURS OF WORK:

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. At times, weekend and weekday evenings or nights may be required.

SALARY LEVEL:

$95,000 - $105.000
