Job Overview
The Human Resources Manager provides leadership and oversight to the HR department, ensuring the effective delivery of HR services, programs, and initiatives across the organization. This position is responsible for managing and supporting the HR team, overseeing day-to-day labour relations, recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement activities.
Duties
Manage talent acquisition processes to attract top talent through effective HR sourcing and interviewing techniques.
Foster positive employee relations by addressing concerns and facilitating conflict resolution.
Supervise HR team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
Oversee day-to-day labour relations, ensuring consistent interpretation and application of the Collective Agreement. Act as an advisor to both the HR team and managers regarding investigations, discipline, and grievance handling.
Participate in Labour Management Meetings and maintain collaborative relationships with union representatives.
Conduct data analysis to identify trends in workforce metrics and inform decision-making processes.
Support managers in addressing performance and conduct issues in a timely and consistent manner.
Conduct or assist with workplace investigations and ensure appropriate documentation and follow-up.
Support the CHRO and the senior leadership team by identifying areas for program enhancements, as well as policy review or improvement and making recommendations as needed.
Education & Experience
Diploma or degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong background in labour relations, including grievance handling and investigations.
Experience in a unionized, public sector, or community-based environment preferred.
CPHR designation (or eligibility) is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
In-depth knowledge of employment legislation, human rights, and collective bargaining processes.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365, HRIS systems, and data reporting tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities.
Other Information
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to travel between sites as required.
May be required to attend meetings or events outside of regular working hours.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
