About the role:



Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, the Manager of FP&A is responsible for helping to drive the financial performance of our construction and manufacturing businesses. The successful candidate will enjoy being the hub between construction, production, estimating, procurement, and accounting teams as it relates to financial reporting. Blending financial acumen with deep understanding of construction life cycles and outcomes, the key focus of this role is to analyze project and production data to identify risks and opportunities to achieving budget and schedules.

What you will do:



Present project and production status reports to the leadership team including key insights of where we are performing against budget and schedule. Devise financial models, reports, and supporting business cases to provide the critical information needed for operations teams to make business planning decisions with confidence. Coach, mentor, and hold operations teams accountable for completing timely status updates and forecasting activities.
Manage project financial setup in our ERP (SAGE) and oversee internal project financial controls, helping to establish and ensure alignment with work breakdown structures and cost codes.

Regularly gather, verify, analyze, and interpret information from all departments keeping a focused eye on identifying and reporting anticipated risks. Understanding our business model, use curiosity and innovative thinking to participate in solutions-focused discussions of how to mitigate financial risks to the business. Working closely with cross-functional teams, achieve the shared vision of handing over a finished building to our client that exceeds expectations. Lead the annual operating budget process in collaboration with the leadership team. Participate in the development of project and manufacturing facility proformas. Support pre-construction and estimating teams in project budgeting activities as required.

Your experience & abilities



Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Project Management Professional (PMP) with targeted training and experience in the area of financial planning & analysis or management accounting. Strong understanding of construction accounting, job costing, and construction cycle sequencing, best practices, and expected outcomes. Strong financial data analytics experience and ability in the construction and/or manufacturing industries. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in financial, project management and manufacturing softwares, including the Microsoft Office Suite, SAGE, AutoDesk, Microvellum, etc.
