Job Description

Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services is a non-profit organization that provides counselling, education and treatment to individuals and families affected by problematic substance use and gambling in Ottawa. Rideauwood serves over 2500 clients yearly in Youth and Adult Programs.

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the Finance Manager prepares budgets, reports and supports the day-to-day financial operations of the Agency. The Manager works with the leadership team to prepare annual operational budgets, and reports. The incumbent provides daily guidance and supervision to the finance and accounting staff and has oversight for finance projects and other operational planning activities as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Review and approve bank reconciliations Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations/Month end procedures Review and approve month end reporting Review and approve CRA filing Review and approve AP invoices Review EFT payments to ensure cashflow management Review and approve monthly and quarterly AR invoices Review and approve bi-weekly payroll with contracted consultant Ensure pension is uploaded in the provider's portal after each pay Prepare various funder reports and review with the CEO Reconcile all Contribution Agreement Revenue Review and update annual rental agreements and other contracts Prepare annual operating and capital budget for finance committee review Provide necessary information to auditors for preparation of annual T3010 Support operational planning activities Provide support through the accreditation process as required Administer financial policies and procedures; updating as required Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization's operations Liaise with funders and vendors as required Ensure reliable current and forecasting reports are available Set up and oversee the company's finance information systems Ensure financial integrity and compliance with legislation and company's policies Approve and present budget and reports to the Finance and Audit Committee and Board as required Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting and finance staff Supervise and guide finance staff in the performance of daily tasks Recommending improvements to ensure the integrity of the organization's financial information Managing or overseeing the relationship with independent auditors Other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:



A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance A designation such as chartered professional accountant (CPA); or working towards will be considered an asset. Superior knowledge in managerial accounting processes Minimum of 4-5 years financial management experience in a not-for-profit (including Ministry funding reporting) is required Experience supervising the work performance of others Demonstrated competency working in financial software, preferably SAGE 300 Advanced knowledge of Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with senior leaders and a Board of Directors Strong analytical skills and high level of attention to detail; meticulous, organized and accurate Ability to work to tight deadlines Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment Excellent problem-solving skills, judgement, tact, discretion and ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and integrity. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including occasional evening hours, and to work hours necessary to complete tasks by stated deadlines; Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for work purposes; Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset;
