***This position is for a Manager of Building Operations based at the Mississauga Executive Centre***
About the role
As a Manager of Building Operations within our REMS team, you'll be pivotal in working with a commercial office building downtown. You oversee the daily operation and routine maintenance of the physical building systems and tenant requests. You are driven by customer service and take pride in the quality of work and service delivered by your team. You work well with individuals at all levels, including clients, external vendors, and corporate teams (HR, IT, Leasing, etc.), and you work collaboratively with the general manager and other on-site management team members. You have a strong track record in leading, managing and successfully carrying out large capital projects and implementing preventive maintenance plans for large commercial assets. You meet and exceed business objectives, ensuring consistent achievement of all KPIs and operational finances. You are forward-thinking and innovative. Manage and provide guidance and training to the building operations team.
Able to effectively multitask and to recognize and address important and time-sensitive tasks.
Ability to review operations to implement energy efficiency programs and to operate the building in accordance with sustainability programs.
An understanding of expense controls and the ability to operate within established budgets.
What you'll bring
Minimum of 5 to10 years progressive building operations experience and 5+ years of progressive leadership experience, including managing a team of building operators, client and tenant relationships (Class A)
A track record of preparing, writing and presenting business cases for capital projects from budgeting to completion.
Demonstrated Problem-solving (teams, Clients, Vendors, Tenants)
Strategic thinking, innovative sourcing and implementing cost-effective savings
Acquainted with all aspects of emergency management and supporting emergency response teams
Experienced with writing and managing the tendering process for large-scale contracts (RFQ/RFP) and client business cases
Proven, decisive decision-making is an asset.
Experience working with other departments is an asset (construction, accounting, leasing)
Experience working with Critical Systems Environments
Experience in managing and implementing ESG projects is preferred.
SMA and FMA designation, BES, SMT, HVAC technician or 5th/4th Class Engineer certified or equivalent preferred.
RPA designation, LEED AP, PMP or equivalent, is an asset
Knowledge of Direct Digital Controls systems operation and troubleshooting.
Ability to oversee tenant build-outs and property improvement projects.
Experience preparing and working with a property operations budget.
Knowledge of building and fire codes.
Ability to work with computer applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), a smartphone, and/or another device.
Experience with Yardi Voyager and Yardi FM, Angus, or Building Engines work order system.
Valid driver's license
