Job Description


:
We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for someone eager to learn the mechanics of the financial markets (money markets, fixed income, equity, and FX), and regularly interact with a variety of stakeholders including portfolio managers and banking operations teams.


This role is part of the Money Market Investment team that manages the liquidity of both Canada Life and some of its segregated funds. The portfolio size is currently more than $3B and annual trading volumes exceed $75B. The team is also involved in Great-West Lifeco\xe2\x80\x99s corporate initiatives around acquisitions and refinancing activities requiring short term investments and foreign exchange activities.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Daily preparation of cash management packages for investment purposes
  • Daily trade execution
  • Interact daily with the investment dealer community
  • Leverage your strong organizational skills to make and support sound investment decisions
  • Keep up to date with current economic news and events to assist with the decision-making process.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ideally 3+ years of related work experience (candidates with less experience will also be considered)
  • Post secondary business or accounting degree
  • CFA designation or a willingness to pursue it
  • Strong analytical and computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
