What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

You will be instrumental in supporting Co-op Agro market share growth in seed, crop protection, and crop nutrition products. You will be responsible for driving the department\xe2\x80\x99s goal on empowering Co-op Agro to become the farm customer\xe2\x80\x99s trusted advisor, ultimately resulting in increased sales, improved EBITDA, and market share growth

Lead the GTA Team

  • You will lead a team of technical agronomy experts to strengthen seed, crop protection, and fertilizer business growth and continue to drive a positive industry perception of the CRS as a trusted advisor
  • You will ensure function goals are aligned with department goals, drive engagement and coach on best performance, including formal quarterly goal reviews, and on-going coaching
  • You will ensure frequent communication within the GTA team and with other internal and external (suppliers for example) stakeholders
  • You will develop the direction and metrics on initiatives such as field trials, digital ag, and GWP adoption and execution
  • You will ensure GTAs are supporting the Key Account Managers when they are developing action plans with Local Co-ops in order to meet their Ag Solutions business objectives
New Products and Solutions
  • You will provide direction and expert insight to the Ag Solutions Management Team on important agricultural trends, issues, and opportunities
  • Working with current and potential suppliers, you will identify, develop testing protocol, and evaluate new ag products and solutions to bring to the Ag Solutions\xe2\x80\x99 portfolio, keeping in mind differentiation and profitability
  • You will contribute to the success of our private brand strategy, including leading the development of a product performance inquiry process and training on product knowledge and positioning
Agronomic Leadership
  • You will drive the strategic agronomic direction using information from market surveys, grower panels, and advisory councils with the goal of enhancing the industries perception of Grow and Equip teams
  • You will build working relationships with key influencers in academia, extension, and research and development from government and manufacturer partners
  • You will work with marketing teams to tell the story of the technical expertise of Co-op Agro and our specialty teams to growers and manufacturer partners. You will also connect with and present the Grow and Equip Team strategic direction to manufacturing partners to demonstrate the value of FCL and the CRS
  • You will champion the vision, value, and necessity of industry designations such as Certified Crop Advisors, 4R Designation, and the license to practice
  • You will work with marketing to develop and disseminate agronomic technical marketing content and will be accountable for technical accuracy of agronomic extension material
  • You will set yearly agronomic training objectives, events, and methods (conference, webinar, eLearning, written) and ensure execution
  • You will ensure GTAs are supporting the local Co-op Grow Teams through training (group, one-on-one, in-field, classroom) and coaching (field walks; farm calls)
  • You will collaborate with manufacturer/supplier partners on agronomic win-wins, training needs, and new product support
  • You will be responsible for working with internal teams to ensure training and alignment of soft skills (selling, negotiating, time management as examples) for specialty teams (Grow/Equip/Feed)

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Sales & Marketing and:
  • You have a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture, or a Bachelors of Commerce
  • You have a minimum of 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in sales or research experience in agriculture (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
  • You have a license to practice agrology (PAg) and are a Certified Crop Advisor
