Market Development Agronomist Associate, Swift Current

What you will do:

This opportunity is the local agronomic expert for the Bayer portfolio, management of large-scale field trial testing & knowledge transfer activities and supporting sales activities in the local geography.

This is a full-time 12-month home-based position based in Swift Current, Saskatchewan with travel, covering this territory.

Key Tasks:

• Plan and execute a large-scale field trial testing program generating commercial seed and crop protection data used to support product positioning, product launches and technical knowledge transfer
• Provide agronomic support and training for Territory Sales Manager (TSM), key retails, independent consultants
• Support Sales team with in-field diagnostic service for seed and crop protection performance inquiries
• Assist with communication to Bayer retail and grower customers
• Assist with retail and grower summer tours and promotional events
• Collaborate with TSM to establish lead lists for direct grower selling

Who you are:

• Minimum of a BSc Degree or equivalent in Agriculture or related discipline and experience in Agronomy, field development or R&D related experience
• Understands basic crop production, agronomy and Bayer portfolio for corn, soybeans, canola, pulses and/or cereals
• Assisted with organizing and executing trial programs
• Familiar with IT systems for data management (SCOUT/similar data management tool experience is an asset)
• Possess agronomic technical analytical skills
• Good relationship building and team skills
• Good organization and time management
• Problem solving through analytical thinking and judgments in complex situations
• Experience supporting sales is an asset
• CCA, PAg and/or Order of Agronomist (QC) designation is an asset
