TAQA North is currently searching for Manager, Mineral Land. Reporting to the Director, Land and Business Development, the Manager, Mineral Land will provide leadership and support to the Mineral Negotiators and the Mineral Land Contracts and Lease Administration Team. You will play a lead role in establishing mineral land strategy and be a key driver for accretive portfolio optimization in support of TAQA North development plans. You will also lead the development and management of solid business processes and template agreements to ensure the protection and maintenance of TAQA North's mineral land assets. As an effective leader, coach and mentor the successful candidate will help to motivate the TAQA North Mineral Land Team in achieving their goals.


Your Key Responsibilities:


Manage mineral land accountabilities/ activities (Lease Administration; Contracts Analysis; Negotiations) for TAQA North Identify, prioritize and execute mineral land strategies (capture value add opportunities; enhance/ consolidate mineral land position for future capital investment) associated with TAQA North asset base in collaboration with Development Asset Teams and Business Development Actively leverage your extensive industry network to effectively promote opportunities, insights and value growth for TAQA North's business plans Establish, monitor and report on annual Mineral Land Team Goals and Objectives Facilitate Mineral Land Team Performance Management. Ensure individual goals and objectives align with Business Development, Development and TAQA North Goals, Objectives and Key Performance Indicators and strategies Facilitate training and development opportunities for Mineral Land Team members Steward staffing requirements to ensure competency levels for Mineral Land Team are at the required level to effectively execute Mineral Land Team Goals and Objectives and meet changing business and operational needs Ensure compliance with TAQA North governance controls Facilitate annual performance reviews to identify opportunities for improvement of existing and/ or establishment and implementation of new mineral land business processes and template forms/ agreements to keep up-to-date with industry standards and current trends Collaborates/ mobilizes resources to support mineral land strategy execution, including land sales and complex, large scale projects Negotiate, draft, review and provide comments on various mineral land agreements (Asset Exchanges; Purchase and Sales, Poolings, Farmouts; Fee Title Leases; etc.) Keep internal stakeholders informed of proposed mineral land transactions Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal business partners including Business Development, Development, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Operations and HR Participate in special projects as identified by the Director, Land & Business Development Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all TAQA North Leadership, Senior and Executive Leadership Teams Establish and maintain strong working relationships with TAQA North's major partners Participate on internal and/ or industry committees or working groups regarding mineral land issues and initiatives Demonstrates personal commitment and accountability for HSSE and organizational leadership framework

Your Qualifications:


Minimum 20 years' experience in oil and gas industry Minimum 10 years' previous leadership experience required Recognized subject matter expert of mineral land administration, contracts analysis and negotiations Bachelor of Commerce with a concentration in Petroleum Land Management or comparable education Member of CALEP/ CAPLA with extensive industry network Suited to someone who enjoys responsibility and accountability around complex, large scale projects Skills required: Proven ability to create, manage and mentor high performance teams Skilled leader and communicator (including verbal, written and presentation skills) Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully Ability to adapt communication style to audience, situation and organizational values Proven analytical and organizational skills Excellent negotiation and project management skills Strong attention to detail while working towards deadlines/under pressure Effective with change management Ability to be resilient under pressure, resolve and/or escalate issues appropriately in a timely fashion
