The Role




Cameco is committed to pursuing operational excellence as a strategic imperative in each stage of the uranium life cycle. Success in our materials management initiatives makes us a more sustainable company by monitoring inventory data, ensuring optimal material availability and utilizing management systems to track stock and optimize warehouse operations.




In this role, you will:



• Develop and implement materials management policies, procedures, and strategies
• Manage inventory levels to meet operational demands while minimizing excess stock
• Monitor and analyze inventory data to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Implement and maintain inventory management software and tracking systems
• Lead and train materials management staff to improve performance and productivity
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
• Accountable for supporting on-going optimization of operational inventory and for managing project materials/equipment for multiple projects at various Cameco sites
• Responsible for the asset disposal process for all of Cameco's Canadian operations. In addition, you will lead the development and implementation of Cameco's overall materials management strategy to ensure the appropriate support to the business
• Establishing work processes and standards to ensure consistent project materials management as well as maximizing value with the disposal of assets and inventory
• Demonstrate strategic effectiveness with the optimization of inventory levels on an ongoing basis. As a leader you will coach and mentor you staff on best practices and ensure customer relationships are strong with the various site stakeholders






Required:




• Bachelor's degree in business or related technical area
• At least 10 years of related experience in materials management/warehousing and minimum eight years experience of team leadership.
• Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.



Recommended:



• APICS, SCMP designation is preferred
• Experience with SAP for inventory/materials management
• Strong track record of developing and implementing materials management best practice based standards and plans resulting in significant financial and operational benefits for the organization
