The Manager, Maintenance & Cleanliness will have overall accountability for the coordination and day-to-day delivery of all Enviro Team programs and initiatives, ensuring operational effectiveness and alignment with organizational priorities. This role provides strong leadership to maintenance and cleanliness teams, ensuring high performance through effective coaching, clear communication, and ongoing talent development. Team members of the Enviro Team, contributes to making Downtown Winnipeg a vibrant and welcoming district through the continuous upkeep of outdoor public and private spaces.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Lead and oversee Enviro Team operations, ensuring downtown public areas are clean, safe, and well maintained. Set priorities, coordinate resources, and adapt programs to meet BIZ Member needs and operational demands. Provide strong leadership to the Enviro Team through recruitment, training, coaching, performance, and conflict management. Ensure efficient workflows, accurate scheduling, payroll approval, and performance reporting. Maintain high service standards and positive relationships with BIZ Members and stakeholders. Manage the Enviro budget and support grant funding to ensure program sustainability. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support organizational initiatives and events. Oversee and monitor small maintenance and repair activities, providing guidance to the field team members and ensuring work quality, safety, and timeliness. Ensure compliance with health and

OUR REQUIREMENTS:



Minimum 3 years in a leadership role with proven ability to coach, motivate, and engage teams. Strong team-building skills and ability to lead through change while modeling respectful, professional behaviour. Experience leading strategic initiatives and setting clear operational expectations. Experience developing and implementing Safe Work procedures. Strong initiative, adaptability, and ability to work independently while meeting deadlines. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving & decision-making skills aligned to broader organizational goals. Effective networking skills to maintain and pursue funding opportunities. Strong oral and written communication skills with a positive attitude and collaborative approach. Highly customer-service oriented with proven ability to manage sensitive inquiries. Proficient in the use of computer applications, including MS Office and electronic payroll systems, to support scheduling, reporting, tracking and payroll functions. Skilled in operating small equipment, utility vehicles, and power tools. Demonstrated understanding of small maintenance repairs and manual trades, with the ability to assess, guide, and support field work. Possess a valid Class 5 Drivers' License.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT



Required to work outdoors in all weather conditions year-round. Required to work primarily on weekdays; occasional evenings and weekends may be necessary based on operational and event needs. Required to drive and operate small equipment, utility vehicles and mobility to operate power tools. Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods and over uneven terrain. Physically capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of the position including shovelling, bending, reaching, crouching and lifting up to 50 lbs.
