Position Summary... This role is responsible for supporting legal and compliance services for the Walmart Connect, Marketing, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability/ESG business teams. The position must develop and implement templates, processes and training materials to facilitate compliance with marketing & advertising regulations while achieving business goals.
What you'll do...
1.Understand Canadian regulatory environment for advertising and marketing laws, and monitor changes in legal trends, legislation and regulations identifying the potential impacts to our business, and making recommendations for compliance with complex laws, with oversight from Assistant General Counsel.
2.xe2x80x8bxe2x80x8bTriage incoming legal requests from Walmart Connect, Marketing, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability/ESG teams.xe2x80x8b
3.Conduct review of marketing and advertising initiatives and materials to ensure conformity to policies, regulations, guidelines, and industry standards with respect to marketing and advertising laws, consumer protection laws, ASC standards, ESG regulations and the French Language Charter
4.xe2x80x8bxe2x80x8bDraft terms and conditions, contest rules, prize acknowledgement forms and standard talent releases, with oversight from Assistant General Counsel, as well as develop marketing compliance guidelines, training materials and FAQs.xe2x80x8b
5.xe2x80x8bxe2x80x8bSupport compliance training for business teams on legal, marketing and advertising issues and the legal process.xe2x80x8b
6.xe2x80x8bxe2x80x8bPrepare compliance templates for substantiation of marketing claims, including pricing claims, and xe2x80x8bidentify and leverage technology to improve delivery of legal services.
7.xe2x80x8bxe2x80x8bAssist in the preparation of responses to regulators, working with Legal and Compliance.xe2x80x8b
8.Support Assistant General Counsel in identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and process improvements for supporting Walmart Connect, Marketing, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability/ESG teams; lead projects to implement such process improvements.
9. A College Certificate or Diploma, complemented by a minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in Marketing Law.
