Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manager / Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in laboratory procedures and techniques; the ability to prioritize the workload; strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

Collecting samples from residential, commercial and oilfield sites. Creating survey of building or site locations. Limited scope surveys of materials. Testing of potential asbestos and air filter samples. Analyzing material compositions. Maintain accurate records of all testing. Receiving Chain of Custody Supervise lab staff as needed, providing training on lab practices. Maintain a clean and organized lab environment.

Required Skills

WorkSafe BC asbestos level S certification. Proven experience in a clinical laboratory setting or research laboratory environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively. Previous supervising experience is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple projects efficiently. Oilfield and/or construction experience is an asset. Drafting background is an asset. Having valid oilfield tickets is an asset (H2S, level 1 first aid, CSO)
We are willing to provide necessary training to the successful candidate. There is also the potential to become a co-owner in the business.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
