Help us raise the expectation of what an agriculture company can be and grow your career with Nutrien.Reporting to the Director - IT Site Support, the Manager IT - Potash Site Support will be responsible for providing technical and professional leadership for the Information Technology personnel at five (5) potash sites located in Canada. This is a dynamic leadership position that works intimately with the business on strategy/priorities aligning technology to operational needs by proactively assessing and understanding business needs through the lens of innovation, to help identify and quantify areas where technology can help advance the needs of the business as we look to automate and maximize efficient mine/plant operations. This position requires building and maintaining trusted relationships with Plant/General Managers and their Leadership teams at our potash sites, to align Site IT with the business priorities, adopting best practices across the sites and divisions, advancing innovation and standardizing processes and procedures in support of our key priorities of safety, reliability, efficiency, growth.The scope of this role includes responsibility for the advancement and support of technology at our sites including end-user technology (i.e. Workstations, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers), infrastructure (i.e. LAN, WAN, server, storage, voice, video), desktop applications (i.e. Microsoft Office), security (camera and badge systems) and locally hosted applications. The scope also includes site support of some corporate hosted applications. The position is responsible for managing local on-site teams of dedicated technology professionals at each operating location, who are responsible for supporting and enabling the various technologies required for safe, efficient, and reliable operations.This position will be required to maintain a noticeable presence on each of the assigned potash sites as well as some travel (
25%) to other Nutrien sites.What you will do:

  • Lead, mentor, and support the Site IT employees and contractors at assigned sites
  • Ensure site IT personnel are empowered to perform their job
  • Provide high-quality support of site Information Technology systems at assigned sites
  • Ensure procedures are in place, following industry best practices and Nutrien IT standards, for system security, efficient system operations, routine maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Ensure accurate documentation for all supported systems is current and accessible by authorized personnel
  • Facilitate communication between IT Site Support teams to identify shared requirements and opportunities for common solutions
  • Work closely with IT BRM leaders in support of their mission to align Nutrien IT\'s services and delivery with business needs and directions
  • Listen to those teams and the business areas to determine where technology and/or support needs to change or improve to better align with business needs
  • Promote communication between business leaders, Potash IT and Site IT teams to align and influence business and IT strategies.
  • Providing contributions to roadmaps needed to support the business and pave the way for upcoming work
  • Aligning (and re-aligning) with business drivers and events that may alter business needs temporarily or permanently
  • Provide updates on support team efforts, projects and technology priorities to the IT BRM leaders, and where required, participate in business facing discussions to support BRM teams
  • Ensure proper financial management of the Site IT function across assigned sites
  • Prepare an annual budget, monitor expenses, and submit monthly forecasts for the Site IT function at assigned sites
  • Seek opportunities for cost reduction through coordination of consolidated purchasing across assigned sites, in collaboration with peers responsible for other Potash, Nitrogen, and Phosphate, Retail and Corporate sites
  • Manage risk for the Site IT function
  • Regularly assess risk and develop risk mitigation plans for all supported technologies, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility needs of the organization are met
  • Ensure IT infrastructure supports business resiliency requirements
  • Prevent unauthorized access to systems
  • Promote Cyber Security Awareness
  • Proactively assess the risk of proposed new technology assets
What you will bring:
  • Degree or diploma from a recognized university or technical school in Computer Related field
  • 8 or more years of related IT experience, including a minimum of 2 years IT supervisory experience
  • Safety Leadership - Promote Safety first in all we do
  • A proven history of continuous learning in the areas of leadership, technology, financial management and communications
  • Open and transparent with other teams. Demonstrated ability to work together with others to provide the best possible business support and outcomes
  • Experience acting calmly and competently in high-pressure situations such as business impacting and/or cybersecurity incidents
  • Innovative mindset - A forward thinker who has shown ability to inject new technology and innovative ideas to support business needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills - adept at building and maintaining strong working relationships and collaborating and communicating effectively in a business environment
  • Knowledge of the industrial plant sites, operations, and inter-dependency of departments
  • Excellent facilitation skills
