Magna Mining Inc. is a Sudbury-focused, base metal exploration and development company.
Magna Mining's key objective is to become the next nickel and copper producing company in Canada by executing a growth strategy that is focused exclusively on the historic nickel producing district of Sudbury, ON.
We intend to achieve this objective via the creation of a Sudbury focused, hub and spoke production model, with our existing Shakespeare project as the hub. The path to the creation of a significant new battery metals producing Canadian company is to execute a long term, multi-faceted growth strategy.
The Manager, IT, is responsible for the sustainable and reliable technology systems and strategies for Magna Mining Inc. This is the highest-level IT role at Magna Mining. It requires an incumbent that can be hands on with the technical aspects of IT and can provide strategic direction for the organization.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain an IT plan aligned to business goals.
Set an annual budget and simple measures for uptime, security, and service levels.
Operate and improve networks, servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud services. Responsible for plan refresh and capacity. Reduce single points of failure and keep standards documented.
Set endpoint standards and a patching cadence.
Administer identity and access, enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA), and keep role-based access current.
Implement practical controls across email, endpoints, identity, network, and backups. Define recovery time objective (RTO)and recovery point objective (RPO) targets. Test recovery on a regular schedule. Run incident response and follow-up actions.
Coordinate support for enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other key business applications (ex: JD Edwards, DataMine) with vendors and internal teams. Improve data quality and reporting. Keep integrations reliable and documented.
Manage vendors, service level agreements, renewals, and licensing. Track and forecast spend. Present costs and value clearly to leadership.
Lead a small internal team and contractors. Build runbooks and checklists for recurring work. Train and collaborate with the team on new standards and changes.
Requirements
Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents
Post-secondary education in a related field.
Work Experience: Nature & Length
10 or more years of related experience. Experience in the mining industry is preferred.
5 or more years of leadership experience.

Ability to provide IT leadership to the organization and lead a team of employees and contractors in a multi-site setting.
Proficient with budgeting and vendor management.
Established understanding of infrastructure, cloud, identity, and security measures.
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Familiarity with IT governance frameworks.
Experience with cloud technologies and digital transformation initiatives.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
