The Opportunity


We are looking for an experienced people leader to join our Global IT Team as the Manager, IT Business Analysis. Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Applications & Project Management Office, the Manager, IT Business Analysis will lead a team of Business Analysts to provide business analysis and project management support on various business and technology projects. The Manager, IT Business Analysis will also be responsible for developing business analysis processes and standards and accountable for the ongoing operation, enhancement and adoption of Kinross\xe2\x80\x99s enterprise demand and portfolio management process. The Manager, IT Business Analysis will also be responsible for operating as a Senior Business Analyst on costly and complex enterprise technology and business projects. This position will be in the Kinross Corporate Head Office in downtown Toronto. Kinross operates according to a hybrid work model whereby employees are required to work from Kinross\xe2\x80\x99s office a minimum of three days per week.

What You Will Do


  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of high-performing IT Business Analysts by providing business analysis and project management services following best practices.
  • Develop business analysis processes, templates and standards that align with industry best practices and are fit for use across Kinross globally.
  • Promote, educate, and market the value of business analysis processes and standards.
  • Manage large and complex business analysis initiatives and projects.
  • Perform enterprise and strategic analysis to support the development of new processes, systems, technologies, and capabilities.
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance for Kinross\xe2\x80\x99s digital collaboration solutions and roadmap.
  • Operate and champion Kinross\xe2\x80\x99s enterprise IT demand management process to ensure project proposals are objectively evaluated and approved following defined governance processes.
  • Organize, coordinate, and facilitate Kinross Global IT\xe2\x80\x99s enterprise governance forum, the Technology Advisory Board.
  • Perform research and analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Keep apprised of emerging technologies, industry technical and business trends through participation in professional associations, practice communities & individual learning.
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance in support of technology identification, evaluation and selection initiatives
  • Provide coaching, development, succession, recruitment, resource management, team leadership, and input into performance and development plans.
  • Manage positive team, vendor, client, and technology partner relationships.
  • Develop, deliver, and facilitate end-user training for various enterprise applications and digital collaboration tools.
  • Facilitate business and technical meetings to elicit requirements, conduct process walkthroughs, define solution designs, review functional specifications, implementation plans & others as required.
  • Oversee the administration of application support for business solutions not limited to Microsoft Teams, SharePoint 2010, 2016 and SharePoint Online, Zoom, ServiceNow, K2, and Microsoft Forms.


Education


  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business, Computer Science, Information Systems or Project Management
  • Must possess one of the following business analysis certifications at the time of hire: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or the Project Management Institute Professional in Business Analysis (PMI PBA).
  • PMP designation would be considered an asset
  • Completion of formal training in business analysis from an IIBA and/or a PMI-accredited training provider.


Reporting Relationships


  • 6-8 years of verifiable professional experience as a Business Analyst.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrable people leadership experience.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a function related to business process optimization, technical project delivery, process automation, and application development.
  • Proven track record of successfully working on cross-functional projects within an organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executives, sponsors, team members, stakeholders, and peers.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical material to business leaders
  • Knowledge and experience with any of the following technologies: Microsoft Office 365, ServiceNow, K2, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint 2016, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Power Automate
  • Proficient with writing SQL scripts to troubleshoot and provide application support
  • Ability to work & communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to work independently & autonomously with minimal direction if required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in English Language
  • Language skills in French, Spanish or Portuguese are assets, but not mandatory
