The Opportunity:
We are recruiting for a
MANAGER, HUMAN RESOURCES
This is a regular full-time position (minimum of 35 hours per week) based in Guelph with travel to other agency sites as needed.*
Reporting to the Director, People and Culture the Manager, Human Resources is responsible for providing leadership to promote an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, health and wellness and the recruitment, retention and ongoing development of a superior workforce with an effective infrastructure.
The Manager will provide a range of human resources and payroll functions and coordinate the monitoring and implementation of human resource strategic plans. Human Resource functions include consultation services with management, recruitment and selection, performance management, compliance with employment related legislation, employee orientation, development and training, policy development and employee relations.
Qualifications:
University degree in a field related to personnel management, such as business administration, industrial relations, commerce or psychology
Certification as a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) in good standing is required
Extensive experience (minimum five years) working in human resources, preferably in a service delivery or non-profit environment.
Minimum two years' experience in a Human Resources leadership role
Experience working in a unionized environment; providing advice and consultation to managers and staff, interpreting policies and procedures, legislation and collective agreements to ensure rights and obligations are met.
Experience providing a range of human resource services, i.e., recruitment, selection and retention, employee orientation, organizational development, performance management and employee development, policy development, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, employee health and wellness, and compliance with employment-related legislation
Experience working with an internal payroll and HRIS system (configuration experience as asset)
Demonstrated high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills
Able to handle multiple responsibilities with competing priorities in a fast-paced progressive environment
Must be well organized self-directed, set priorities and manage time effectively
Strong interpersonal skills and must be able to interact patiently, effectively and professionally
Committed to service excellence and client safety
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong alignment with CMHA WW's Mission, Vision, Values and Philosophy
Proficient in the use of Microsoft office programs and technology
A valid driver's license, vehicle and insurance as travel is required
