Next Generation HKY & FIT Inc. (NGHF) is an established private development company operating primarily in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario.
NGHF has been founded on an experienced and proven approach to sports-fitness training. Currently we have reached an elite status in on ice hockey development and training business. Combined we have over 50+ years coaching experience within our coaching staff, train approx. 5,000 players annually and have international experience in 7 countries.
Qualifications:
Prefer strong background in professional / collegiate hockey/ringette ranks, bachelor's degree in Sports Administration, Exercise Science, Business or closely related field; CPR certification; professional certifications with accredited agencies, such as a personal training certificate:
Secondary education
2 to 4 years of sales experience
Must poses excellent interpersonal communications and strong organizational skills
Former college or elite athlete a plus but not required
NCCP Coaching Certification
Speak-out Certification
Valid First Aid Certificate
Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings and weekends
A 'can do' attitude and willingness to take on new tasks and challenges
Professional and Courteous demeanor
Bilingualism is an asset

Direct Responsibilities include:
Evaluating and assigning appropriate training measures for athlete development. Judging athlete's progression through various stages of programs and implements various protocols as needed under the guidelines established by Next Generation HKY and FIT Inc. Training and scheduling athletes; implementing all levels of athlete development programs; pre- and post-program testing; making day-to-day training decisions; educating athletes about their hockey/ringette training needs; data entry for test results; maintaining an upbeat, outgoing attitude towards all clients and staff; sales, including up-selling and marketing; maintaining relationship with parents, coaches and athletes; additional responsibilities as assigned by NGHF CEO. Oversee all the activities taking place within our programs. Provide overall assistance to clients. Provide information for prospective clients inquiring about our training and doing outreach sales. Day-to-day responsibilities will consist of sales, scheduling, filing, data entry and clerical athlete assistance
Sales and Service: Be assertive with the collection of payments and making/closing sales
Phone/Walk-in program sales and tours
Identify new Revenue Streams and plans to launch these initiative's
Develop relationships with customers and potential customers
Make sure every customer experience is flawless
Directly responsible for day to day operations of business and creating/maintaining reports
Help develop and implement the marketing plan
Organization of project details and coordination of communication flow on various projects
Creating and sending out invoices and basic bookkeeping
Assemble meeting agenda for weekly meeting and take meeting minutes
Developing new and innovative training methods
Developing Hockey & Ringette specific drills, lessons and programs
Programs & Coaching
The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing all programs that take place through Next Generation HKY.
This includes "in house" programs, such as our summer camps, as well as programs through other group (such as association contracts etc..)
Responsibilities include marketing, interacting with clients via email, phone or in person, creating groupings for programs, revising current lesson plans, creating new lessons and additional duties related to daily operations
Experience in lesson planning, skill development & staff management
Primary development will take place in the evenings and over the weekends
Staffing & Mentorship
The Director of Operations will be the primary contact for staff. She/he will oversee all hiring of staff and manage both Next Generation HKY's annual calendar and monthly staff schedules
This includes managing our payroll, currently facilitated through Payworks, to schedule and run payroll
The candidate is expected to mentor coaches in a manner that helps them grow within our organization
Marketing
Utilizing strategies in building marketing plan: strong digital presence, grassroots marketing, social media platforms, direct mail, email, press releases, updated point of sale, acquisition increase campaigns, customer touch points, referral program, leveraging business partnerships.
Maintain online presence by updating website, social media platforms, email, mobile media, and quarterly eNewsletters.
Assist in strategy, creative, and execution for all five Divisions: Team, Association, Group, Private Training, and Miscellaneous
Sales
Communicate programs effectively back to parents, coaches, and athletes.
Continually up-sell all athletes to additional programs.
Help create and implement a Sales Plan using personal selling that ties into the company's overall marketing plan.
Prepare and send out invoices to clients
Present the finest customer service to our clients.
Additional duties related to daily operations may be assigned

Attention to detail- paying close attention to each athlete and their development needs in order to ensure the progression of each athlete
Strong communicator--the ability to efficiently communicate with athletes and clients in a manner that reflects NGH in a positive manner; while once again keeping each individual athletes development in the forefront
Confident--the ability to speak in front of groups with poise; being able to be trusted to make appropriate decisions when guidance is not around
Flexible Schedule--with the wide variety of programs we currently offer development may take place during the day, night and/or weekends
Willingness to learn--the ability to receive/respond appropriately to constructive criticism and learn/adapt to our procedures and policies
