Responsible to oversee day-to-day delivery of grounds keeping and moving services operations and to administer grounds keeping and moving services; and maintenance programs. Operations and Maintenance services is charged with the responsibility of protecting the University fixed assets as it relates to the buildings and grounds by proper maintenance in a safe, functional and attractive physical environment, in which the University community can study, work, live and socialize. In addition, to oversee the contracted services operations and administer contracted services and maintenance programs
Qualifications:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
Knowledge of operational management and leadership concepts practices including program/service delivery models, policy development, planning, budgeting, performance measurement management, and human resources
Knowledge of facility operations, program design, delivery, assessment, and evaluation methodologies, processes, and practices
Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, collective agreements, policies and procedures
Knowledge of office as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions
Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
Knowledge of cultural competency and diversity
Knowledge is used to lead ground and moving services unit
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
College diploma or relevant post-secondary certification
Minimum of ten years of previous progressive facility operations and grounds experience including at least five years of supervision and leadership experience in a unionized environment
Minimum five years of project management experience including change management
