We are recruiting for a Manager to join the Fund Operations team within Investment Operations. Reporting to the Director, Fund Operations, this role will lead the team responsible for the onboarding of new investments, accounting activities for investment transactions, valuations, and reporting for Private Equity Funds, Secondaries and Co-Investments.

The role will partner with the Funds & Secondaries and Private Equity Asia Investment team and Core Services team to ensure Investments are appropriately recorded, reported, and disclosed in the CPP Investments\xe2\x80\x99 Financial Statements and Internal Performance and Management Reporting.

Role-Specific Accountabilities:
  • Lead the Investment onboarding and system support of new Investments, Exits and Restructuring while ensuring its adherence to Internal approvals and Financial Policies
  • Partner with colleagues from the Investment Departments, Structuring and Business Management, Tax, Financial Policy and Reporting, and Treasury to successfully close and fund Private Equity Fund and Co-Investment transactions
  • Review capital call and distribution tickets and accounting entries for accuracy; ensure figures agree with transacted amounts, completeness of supporting documentation and appropriate authorizations is in place to facilitate investment closings
  • Lead the quarterly valuation process for Private Equity Fund investments; provide insightful valuation analysis to proactively identify material valuation movements
  • Ensure timely completion and accuracy of various reports and reconciliations relating to portfolio holdings and P&L
  • Ensure process documents are created or updated for any new or changes to existing processes
  • Provide intuitive analysis of operational or business issues and provide direction in determining corrective action; promptly escalate irregular activities or issues
  • Maintain effective working relationships with Investment Departments and external asset managers to ensure that issues are discussed and resolved while financial controls and reporting requirements are met
  • Build a reputation as a subject matter expert in the private investments domain for issues related to investment operations and accounting
  • Continually strive for operational excellence, seek ways to streamline processes and create operational efficiencies through automated solutions
  • Manage, develop and coach direct reports and team. Perform year-end performance reviews
  • Prioritize workload in a timely fashion to meet deadlines
  • Partner with Internal CPP Investment partners on cross-functional workstreams and initiatives
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications

If you possess the following, we\xe2\x80\x99d like to hear from you:
  • Undergraduate or Masters Degree in Finance, Commerce or other related discipline
  • Professional designations such as a CPA, CFA
  • Minimum of 5-7 years relevant work experience. Investment finance experience at a leading pension fund is preferred
  • Knowledge of Investran and/or SimCorp Dimension is considered an asset
  • People leadership skills with experience in performance management, development and coaching direct reports and team
  • Solid understanding of private assets and banking settlement systems
  • Comfortable and flexible with constantly evolving and changing priorities and be open to new challenges
  • Strong analytical, financial and management accounting skills will be necessary to perform this role
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfortable learning new systems
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high degree of professionalism
  • Solid prioritization and organizations skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable
