Manager, Foundation Services & Operations

Remote, CA, Canada

Job Description

About Us

At the Family Enterprise Foundation (FEF), we believe that families are the cornerstone of society, and that enterprising families--those who engage in business together--are uniquely positioned to thrive across generations with the right support.

Founded over 30 years ago by Philippe and Nan-b de Gaspe Beaubien, and now operating as the unifying voice of family enterprise in Canada, FEF offers immersive and online educational programs, practical peer learning, and research-driven insights that help families strengthen their relationships and build resilience in the face of complex issues.

Our mission is to challenge, support and empower enterprising families to embed a learning culture in a purposeful way, and we're proud to walk alongside families of all sizes, generations, and industries.

About the Role

We're seeking a Manager, Foundation Services & Operations to serve as the central coordinating force behind FEF's growing impact. This individual will work closely with our CEO and a team of fractional experts in marketing, business development, donor relations, and program delivery.

You'll help keep the trains running--ensuring projects are moving forward, stakeholders are well-supported, and internal operations are efficient and responsive. You'll also serve as a point of contact for donors and partners, providing warm, informed service that reflects the heart of our mission.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves to bring structure to complexity, collaborate across disciplines, and support meaningful work that makes a difference for families across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for donor and stakeholder inquiries--responding with professionalism, empathy, and clarity. Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including donors, advisors, and education partners. Coordinate the work of FEF's fractional team, including managing calendars, timelines, and priorities across marketing, donor relations, event planning, and program operations. Track and follow up on projects to ensure all deliverables, deadlines, and responsibilities are clearly understood and executed. Support internal operations, including project administration, document management, meeting scheduling, and light financial or reporting tasks. Develop and manage a CRM system for tracking donor and stakeholder relationships, engagement, and stewardship efforts. Collaborate with marketing and communications professionals to support the creation and distribution of high-quality content and stakeholder-facing materials. Liaise with event support partners to ensure logistics, communications, and programming align with strategic goals. Assist in donor stewardship, including updates, outreach, and coordination of recognition efforts. Support the CEO on strategic initiatives and act as a trusted day-to-day operations partner.

Skills & Qualifications

3+ years of experience in project coordination, program operations, donor relations, or nonprofit administration. Exceptional communication skills, with a knack for relationship-building and service-oriented responsiveness. Organizational excellence--you love systems, checklists, and keeping a team humming. Comfort working remotely and independently, with initiative and accountability. Experience with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot), project management software, or donor databases is an asset. Bilingualism (French/English) is a strong asset, though not required. A Family-owned business background would be an asset.

What We Offer

A mission-driven, collaborative culture centered on long-term impact. Flexibility in your workday and location (remote within Canada). Opportunity to grow with the organization and shape foundational processes. A competitive salary aligned with experience and nonprofit norms. How to Apply
