The Role

Hybrid opportunity - 1-2 days per week in our Toronto office

We are currently looking for a Finance Manager to support the Finance Business Partner Function to help drive business performance leading to the attainment of financial targets for the region. The successful applicant will support financial analysis of some portfolio in the Region, complement Management Accounting support on some transactional elements and should be ready to take on leadership responsibilities as the region grows.

Financial Planning

  • Support the quarterly Forecasting and annual Budgeting processes
  • Review forecasting and budgeting projections with client service teams
  • Input data into financial systems and challenge assumptions, while ensuring accuracy
  • Support the Senior Finance Business Partner to compile forecast reports, analysis for presentation to leadership.
  • Lead budget and forecast activities such as submission deadlines, planning system data inputs and account analysis
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, to align on model inputs and assumptions
  • Manage team members as required
Month-end support
  • Coordinate with Management Accountants and Client teams during month-end to understand drivers of the performance
  • Lead development of monthly reporting packages to facilitate monthly in-depth review of financial and operating results.
  • Review financial and non-financial data for data integrity and accuracy
  • Work with Management Accountants to book necessary accruals to ensure accuracy of results
  • May be assigned Management Accounting responsibilities over some accounts as required
Project and Account Support
  • Provide analysis over the region\'s Portfolio clients by working with various stakeholders to manage and track performance of the accounts from post-sales handoff to execution
  • Applicant should have a strong commercial awareness to provide financial analysis support to new accounts especially during mobilization by checking sales and pricing assumptions versus actual deployment metrics
  • Independently identify opportunities to improve systems or processes within the finance function.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 7 years\' Finance experience preferred(both Accounting & Financial Planning & Analysis experience is ideal)
  • A mix of firm experience and industry experience at a large organization is a strong asset
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree
  • Work with Management Accountants to analyze implementation costs to track to budget and communicate to key stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience a strong asset
  • Experience with IBM Planning & Analytics (Cognos) is an asset
  • Support other responsibilities and ad hoc requests as assigned
  • Strong Intermediate or Advanced MS Excel skills, and good background in finance systems
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with operations and other key players in a matrix organization
  • Ability to analyze trends and make deductions/insights from them - especially in the Service Industry
  • Ability to show resilience and manage priorities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong financial modelling skills
