This position is accountable for the integrity and accuracy of the financial reporting, forecasting, planning and analysis as well as provides the support to the Controller and Business Leaders in evaluating the business performance.
Key Accountabilities:
Accountable for monthly financial close and reporting, including all journal entries, inventory reconciliations and variance analysis
Work closely with the Billing team to ensure the customer billings are accurate and in-line with contractual obligations and assist with billing activity as required
Support Operations and Distribution departments by analyzing costs, monitoring variances, identifying trends and recommending actions to management
Perform pricing analysis and work closely with pricing team to address any gaps/concerns
Prepare the monthly financial results packages, ensuring proper analysis and interpretation of performance are provided to senior management
Ensure timely preparation of annual budget and monthly forecasts, working with the business stakeholders to drive decisions
Improve financial and operation status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends and recommending actions to management
Investigate and address substantial working capital variances and recommend actions to correct where needed
Lead the forecasting and consolidation of capital spend - including validation and review of capital requests, depreciation forecasting, project prioritization, and business case preparation. Understand key drivers of budget and forecast and what may drive variances
Prepare commission payout for the Merchant sales team on an annual basis
Support Linde Services Canada Operations by analyzing results across systems, monitoring variances, identifying trends and recommending actions to management
Participate in cross-functional business projects and ad hoc analysis on as needed basis
Ensure compliance to Linde financial policy
Adhere to monthly audit requirements by reporting inputs to Corporate FP&A
Provide the mentoring/ coaching to FP&A Analyst.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting required
CMA, CA or CPA highly desirable
Experience:
5 - 8 years working experience in similar positions, in which 3 - 5 years manufacturing and costing experience required
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Strong analytical skills
Must be proficient in Excel
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong collaboration skills across multiple disciplines and must be a team player
Oracle BI, Hyperion and/or JD Edwards experience an asset
