:
Our client is searching for a Manager, Financial Accounting to work on a 13 month contract. The key responsibilities of the Manager, Financial Accounting are:

• Prepare monthly financial statements, financial forecasts and report variances

• Manage all full cycle accounting operations, including bi-weekly payroll and GL & client investment account reconciliations

• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, regulatory reporting, monthly and annual close processes

• Financial modelling, research and analysis to provide decision support & recommendations for driving the successful business

• Prepare working papers for and manage annual financial statement audit

• Prepare working capital & other regulatory reports for Provincial Regulators

• Stay current with changes to tax laws and legislation

• Quarterly filing of GST/PST remittances

Requirements:
The ideal individual is a designated accountant (CPA or equivalent) with 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
In addition to the above, the following skills are also desired:

• Full cycle accounting and financial statement preparation experience as well as month-end and year-end close experience

• A thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and professional ethics

• Experience with payroll, GST, PST and EHT

• Experience in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a track record of meeting deadlines

• Customer service oriented; Self-assured with an inner drive to exceed the expectations of both internal & external clients

• A self-starter who is solution focused and able to anticipate what needs to be done well in advance of deadlines

• A team player who works collaboratively with others and is always willing to "pitch in" to succeed, and drive to accomplish the common goal
