SUMMARY: A key financial role, the Manager, Accounting Canada, reports to the Controller, North America and is responsible for providing support on period-end closing activities, general accounting, with a focus on cash management, finance transformation, compliance, and managing the relationship with the internal and external auditors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Review and monitor daily cash positions; manage the transactions and coordinate with Treasury on cash/loan requirements
  • Ownership of regional cash flow and balance sheet forecast process
  • Oversight of accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate local and regulatory standards as well as corporate requirements
  • Support the timely production and submission of statutory and internal financial reports for payroll, tax, risk management and other regulatory bodies as required.
  • Support annual external and internal audit schedules, internal coordination and documentation for timely and successful audits; review any issues with senior management and implement action plan to address and resolve
  • Research, develop, execute, and lead new accounting and financial standards and develop necessary systems to ensure efficient and compliant processes
  • Support accurate completion of financial reporting requirements (monthly, quarterly, yearly) in accordance with Company accounting standards
  • Manage fixed asset and depreciation records to ensure compliance with capitalization and depreciation guidelines
  • Support regional month-end close activities, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Support regional forecasting activities
  • From a regional perspective, support relationship with Shared Services team based in India, ensuring all transactions are completed accurately and timely
  • Focus on continuous process improvement to increase effectiveness and efficiency
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to translate key business and financial assumptions into clear and measurable financial projections and/or business plans.
  • Collaborate with the other finance departments to support overall regional goals and objectives. (Ops Finance, ISC, Commercial).
  • Provide NA Finance Leadership with ongoing strategic and operational support

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • BS in Accounting or Finance, CPA required, MBA considered an asset
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting/Finance. Public Accounting experience a plus
  • Solid applied understanding of GAAP and IFRS
  • Solid applied understanding of general financial analysis concepts such as margin analysis, ROI, DCF, capital evaluation
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment producing food products or other consumer products desired
  • Ability to identify, create, and implement process improvements and enhancements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize department\xe2\x80\x99s work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to apply broad business perspectives and experiences to identify opportunities/risks
  • Ability to build relationships, manage conflict and embrace change.
  • Strong technical, analytical and systems skills. Experience with Microsoft Excel is a must.
  • Experience with SAP, EDW, OneStream is a definite asset.
