The Opportunity

The Manager, Finance Transformation is a senior position that supports the Associate Director, Finance Business Solutions in improving Finance business processes and systems. This position involves leading a team to analyze and improve on Finance business processes through automation, technology and standardization. The Manager, Finance Transformation will work with subject matter experts across Finance and SAIT to deliver actionable business insights and improvement on the Finance department\xe2\x80\x99s operational performance. This role will be responsible for leading change that will improve Finance\xe2\x80\x99s business processes and systems either through operational improvements or projects. As the leader of the Finance Transformation team, this individual will be guiding, coaching, and mentoring direct reports as well as indirectly Finance business subject matters experts. The successful individual will play a key role in transforming the Finance department. Change management and communication will be critical in achieving the desired outcomes of this role. This position will report to the Associate Director, Finance Business Solutions.

The Role
Leadership
Support employees and department with appropriate resources to ensure independent judgment and initiative in fulfilling goals of the unit
Set performance and quality standards for team objectives to facilitate achievement of goals with the appropriate resources
Foster an atmosphere of learning and ongoing employee development
Establish guidelines and ensure a consistently high-level of quality in service is provided relative to both timelines and accuracy
Work to pro-actively identify and address gaps in training or lack of clarity of expectations
Business Process Improvement
Identifying opportunities, project planning, and implementation
Broad knowledge of financial functions with industry experience
Standardizing Finance business improvement processes and templates
Identifying finance industry process best practices and implementing them at SAIT
Leading projects change
Cross-functional collaboration & Change Management
Work across Finance and departments that interact with Finance processes to build relationships, understand opportunities and challenges
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum
Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio);
5+ years of supervisory experience for staff
Strong experience in identifying and improving finance business process
Proven track record for leading a diverse team of professionals
Experience with financial modules within ERP systems
Experience in process development and work flow design
Demonstrated experience in change management
Preferred
Strong senior level experience in a post-secondary environment.
Experience with project management software (MS Project, JIRA, SmartSheet)
Some business process improvement specific education such as lean six sigma
Some project management methodology training
