ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Manager, External Communications & Sponsorships with a proven track record driving earned media and impactful sponsorship management.

Reporting directly to the Director, External Communications, the Manager, External Communications & Sponsorships will support the external communication strategy by driving earned media, brand awareness and positive brand perception through collaboration on campaigns, storytelling, and media relations. This role will also support the development and execution of a comprehensive sponsorship strategy.

WHAT YOU\'LL DO:

External Communications

• Support all aspects of external communication initiatives that increase awareness and amplify the Sephora brand with key partners including customers, media, and the general public
• Support the execution of the earned media and PR strategies across both corporate and commercial PR to support the brand strategy and corporate narrative
• Partner with colleagues across marketing and cross functional teams to build compelling content and campaigns that drive earned media
• Develop key communication materials including press releases, media pitches, paid editorials and sponsorships that support company strategy and vision
• Collaborate with the internal communications & employer branding team to drive integrated campaigns from both an internal and external lens
• In partnership with the Director, leading the day-to-day management of PR agency, providing direction and coordinating execution of press outreach and initiatives and media relations inquiries to the organization
• Ongoing measurement, evaluation, and reporting of PR results
• Act as the key media contact for customer, brand, product, and community initiatives
• Keep current on emerging PR trends/developments/tools and techniques and share with internal partners
• Support the Director in seeking and vetting opportunities for leadership speaking opportunities and help to facilitate and coordinate speaking engagements
• Lead the PR calendar and support budget management

Sponsorships

• Aid in the development of the sponsorship strategy and lead the 360 execution, including identifying, vetting and evaluating potential strategic sponsorships that align with the Sephora brand and strategy
• In partnership with the Director, review and negotiate sponsorship agreements, working with key internal team members for alignment and approval
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate sponsorship strategies and deliverables into workstream
• Be the primary connection and lead day-to-day relationship with sponsors
• Develop critical metrics to measure sponsorship success
• Keep up to date on new and emerging sponsorship opportunities

WHAT YOU\'LL BRING:

• 5+ years of proven experience in Communications, PR, Sponsorships, in-house or agency
• Undergraduate or Post Graduate degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field
• Proven track record of delivering impactful PR strategies and/or sponsorships
• Polished written and oral communications skills, with an ability to develop compelling storytelling and narratives with a keen understanding of press relations
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate cross functionally!
• Strong project management, prioritization and budget management skills, ability to lead multiple projects in a fast paced, high-volume, and time-sensitive environment
• Strong negotiation skills and experience working with legal contracts
• Strong presentation capabilities, can communicate upward and laterally, advising partners well and with ease
• Independent problem solver, values the capabilities and work quality of a team, has a strong understanding of internal and external clients and needs/priorities
• Self-starter, productive, resourceful, agile, can take a project or program from start to completion with a high attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
• Flexibility and ability to take and incorporate feedback from a variety of partners
• Issues management experience an asset
