Your Opportunity:An exciting leadership opportunity at the Sturgeon Hospital within Women's Health, Labour and Delivery, and other programs as required. The Patient Care Manager (PCM), reporting directly to the Site Director, SCH, provides operational and clinical leadership and support to Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Educator and front-line staff, to ensure the delivery of high quality, patient/family centered care.Description:Reporting to the Sturgeon Site Director, The Patient Care Manager (PCM) helps develop and implement the strategic clinical vision for Women's Health Services including the domains of nursing practice, education and research. The PCM oversees the management of human and financial resources, identifies and addresses safety and quality issues, develops and monitors performance indicators, collaborates with all members of the interdisciplinary team, leads committees and initiatives and provides continuous coaching and mentoring of members of the leadership team. The PCM develops effective working relationships with departmental leaders across the SCH site as well as physicians, frontline managers and staff to develop and implement change initiatives. The PCM is responsible for the overall management of labour and delivery inpatient and outpatient services, postpartum, and any other programs as required, and works jointly with the Surgical PCM to oversee the safe delivery of care for maternity patients in the operative theatre and post anesthetic care unit, using evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. The PCM position is essential to daily operations and works actively to remove barriers to patient flow, supporting education and communicating with patients and families. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding and demonstrate the AHS core values.

Required Qualifications:Eligibility for registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta. Recent management experience within an acute care setting for 5 years within the last 8 years. Baccalaureate degree in a health care discipline or equivalent combination of directly related experience and education will be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous experience within Women's Health Services is an asset. Proven coaching and mentorship skills required as well as excellent conflict resolution and communication skills. Ability to translate complex concepts into understandable components. Leadership skills, including but not limited to, demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs.
