POSITION OVERVIEW
The Domestic Logistics Manager (DLM) leads a team within the Logistics Department at High Liner Foods. The DLM must generate results through the performance of their team. Effective performance goals must be connected to monthly projects and an annual strategic plan that the DLM creates collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires a logistics expert in road transportation industry including current market conditions. The DLM builds and maintains productive commercial relationships, measures and drives improvements in service and cost metrics, and keeps all stakeholders informed through reports and presentations.
RESPONSIBILITES
• Ensure customer satisfaction and create growth opportunities by consistently meeting or exceeding HLF expectations
• Measure performance against High Liner Foods operational goals and KPIs
• Recommend, implement, and execute strategies to improve on KPIs
• Negotiate market driven rate adjustments with carriers
• Create and maintain strong relationships with applicable carriers; communicate clearly and regularly to carriers regarding performance and partnership
• Develop relationships with your team through regular one-on-one meetings
• Provide future-oriented performance feedback to your team often
• Delegate increasing responsibilities to team members for their growth
• Run internal and external meetings including daily stand ups, weekly operations, monthly project reports, carrier reviews and quarterly business reviews
• Drive continuous improvement through all areas of responsibility.
• Formalize continuous improvement through creation and rollout of SOPs
• Build trust as the domestic transportation expert at all levels of High Liner Foods
• Lead and motivate your team
• Will be the main point of contact for issues that require escalation for domestic freight
• Maintain OTIF at its highest performance levels with HLFs customers
• Support HLFs Customer Compliance team in the review of vendor guides and disputing invalid logistics claims.
• Other tasks and activities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• 5+ years of work experience in the transportation industry or supply chain management
• Bachelor's Degree (Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Business or related field) or additional 4+ years relevant experience
• Experience with supply chain software (e2open'TMS application / JDE.)
• Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Customer facing and/or supplier management experience is highly preferred
• Great interpersonal skills with ability to influence others without role power
• Proven ability to problem-solve and present recommendations
• Ability to read and interpret general industry documentation
• Capable of creating and delivering presentations to C-Suite customers
