WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Manager, Canadian Operations Support will provide leadership and operational oversight to support the Canadian distribution and logistics functions. This role is responsible for managing the Burnaby warehouse. The Manager will ensure seamless coordination across these functions, driving operational efficiency, compliance and continuous improvement in support of the overall logistics strategy.
WHAT WE OFFER
We estimate the salary range for this position to be between $70,000 to 98,000 annually depending on the experience level of the candidate. RESPONSIBILITIES
PEOPLE MANANGEMENT
Clarify roles and develop coverage plans; create shift schedules and build headcount models for both permanent and temporary/agency staff. Own full performance cycle : goal-setting, 1:1s, coaching, mid-year/annual reviews, development plans, and corrective action when required.
Drive staffing: recruiting , interviewing, onboarding, and ramp plans; manage temp agencies and conversion strategy.
Manage employee relations: attendance/leave, investigations, dispute resolution; partner with HR (and union reps if appliable).
Ensure safety culture and compliance training (EHS): toolbox talks, near-miss reporting, incident investigations, and return to work.
OPERATIONS & COMPLIANCE
Provide day-to-day management and support to Canadian logistics, trade and compliance, warehouse teams.
Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize workflows, resolve operational challenges, and improve service levels.
Support adherence to customs, trade compliance, and regulatory requirements in collaboration with the trade and compliance specialist.
Facilitate communication and coordination between the Canadian teams and the US senior Operations Manager to ensure alignment.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare reports and escalate issues to the Director as necessary.
Mentor and develop direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture and professional growth.
Assist with budget monitoring and resource planning for Canadian operations.
Inventory control: cycle counts, root-cause on variances.
QUALIFICIATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred
Minimum 5 years' experience in logistics, distribution, or operations management, preferably in multi-site or cross-border environment.
Proven leadership experience managing diverse teams including warehouse, logistics, and compliance functions.
Strong knowledge of Canadian customs, trade regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
* Proficiency with logistics and warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
