Job Description


Reporting to the Director, Data Strategy and Business Intelligence, the full-time, permanent Manager, Data Operations is accountable for the development of technology and processes for CAMH data and visualization architecture, including the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Research Data Warehouse, Machine Learning Operations infrastructure and Visualization/Dashboard systems, as well as integration between these technologies and other related reporting applications.

In this capacity, the Manager Data Operations leads a dedicated team of designated ETL Developers, OLAP developers and SSRS report developers in the designing, modeling, developing and implementing data warehouses, and the integrated SharePoint Portal components.

The Manager Data Operations is also accountable for the maintenance and enhancement of HSP360 Data Warehouse Model, in collaboration with Business Stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

Leads Data Operations / System Architecture

  • Provide technical direction for the design, enhancement and deployment of data warehouse technologies
  • Develop and implement scalable modern data architecture aligned with state-of-the art design principles
  • Establish quality control and data standards to ensure data are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reproducible
  • Support data governance principles and best-practices through technologies, processes and systems design.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and optimization of SSIS ETL solutions, including ETL, workflow processes, data transformations, data cleansing, and SSAS and SSRS components
  • Align and support ongoing maintenance of the Enterprise Reporting security layer
  • Oversees/coordinates data warehouse related tasks, including data acquisition and data-mart/data-cut production
  • Support the integration of new data sources and coordinate alignment with standard data models
  • Coordinate upgrades and system improvements, including those as a result of system upgrades and data sources changes including, iCare/CERNER, Lawson and HSP360.
  • Develop Machine Learning Operations infrastructure and integration with data systems
Leads Enterprise Data Team
  • Leads a technical team to:
  • Maintain data Models, database designs, data flow and entity relationship diagrams, as well as all installation and configuration documentation
  • Support the design, development and implementation of all aspects of technical solutions including;
  • Infrastructure configuration to ensure optimal performance (including the configuration between SQL Server and SharePoint)
  • Analysis, assessment, and interpretation of databases for OLAP and ETL design
  • Development of data models, including database design, relational integrity constraints, OLAP, cubes, normalization and denormalization.
  • Design and development of the meta data dictionary layer
  • Design and development of data marts (including star schema and snowflake schema)
  • Design and development of SSRS reporting environments
The managerial accountabilities of this position include leading, managing, monitoring and evaluating ETL Developers, OLAP developers and SSRS developers performance; assigning work and managing the technical Developer(s); mentors, coaches, and trains direct reports, team development; fosters a healthy work environment model and promotes CAMH values. In this role you will be responsible for providing leadership; managing human resources, including recruitment and performance management. You will be responsible for providing leadership in team planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. This position is based at 1001 Queen Street West.

Qualifications
You will possess a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience. You will have 5+ years of experience with Data Warehousing, demonstrated experience leading Data Warehousing Development resources / teams, demonstrated experience leading all technical aspects of Data Warehousing Solutions, online analytical processing (OLAP), ability to work jointly with the business users to understand operational/client business processes and analytical reporting needs, proven trouble shooting/debugging skills with ability to isolate/resolve problems, good working knowledge of a variety of Data Warehouse development methodologies.
  • Understanding of graph database technologies and interoperable schema development.
  • Experience with Apache NiFi, (or other equivalent systems) to manage scalable data routing and transformation.
  • Experience with Machine Learning Ops and systems integration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Project, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.
  • You will have excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills in English.
  • Strong organization and planning skills and experience in a hospital or other healthcare environment are required.
  • You possess strong analytical problem-solving ability with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines.
  • You are attentive to detail and are able to work under pressure and respond to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with diverse clients and stakeholders is a definite asset.
  • Experience in big data and data mining preferred but not mandatory.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) and /or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Please Note: This full-time, permanent position is NOT part of any bargaining unit.
