Job Description


Overview:
As the Manager, Data Governance and Architecture you are responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based strategic plans to advance corporate data management objectives. You will oversee the development and administration of MPI\xe2\x80\x99s data architecture assets including conceptual, logical, and physical data models, and contribute to the development of data solutions and the selection of data management and business intelligence technologies. Responsibilities:

  • Foster a high-performance culture that is consistent with corporate vision, values and leading practices.
  • Participate in and engage others in decision-making, information sharing, and identifying opportunities for improvement, resolution of client group concerns, and encourage others to do the same.
  • Oversee the development of the data governance and the data architecture program and roadmap (annual).
  • Lead the creation, maintenance and monitoring of the data governance policies, processes, procedures and playbook(s) for guiding the data management aspects of the Enterprise Data Lake.
  • Define and develop enterprise data architecture strategy, framework and standards leveraging advanced data technologies and provide valuable input in the development of governance processes around technology and business aspects of the Enterprise Data Architecture framework.
  • Define, implement and provide effective internal independent architecture validation process and other relevant enterprise data governance.
  • Guide the identification, research, selection, and alignment of technology solutions which meet business and technical requirements in the areas of data warehousing, business intelligence, data science/big data, database management, and cloud data platforms.
Qualifications:
  • Education in Commerce, Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics or related discipline.
  • Industry certification related to data (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK2) is an asset.
  • Related experience in data governance, data strategy development and/or data architecture, including three years in a leadership capacity.
  • Experience in other data related domains such as data quality, data security, or data management is an asset.
  • Strategic planning, analysis and business case development skills and business acumen.
  • Read, understand, interpret, examine, and evaluate researched information, evidence, concepts and ideas, and to formulate and defend positions.
  • Organizational skill with the ability to navigate and prioritize strategically in an environment with multiple competing priorities, tight deadlines and a degree of risk.
  • Expertise in data architecture tools such as SAP Power Designer, IDERA, etc.
  • Advance knowledge of data architecture concepts and practices.
