Position Summary:

Bentley is hiring a Manager for our Data Architecture and Engineering team within our growing Data Operations group. This is a role for an ambitious and technically-sound candidate with experience developing and delivering impactful data products. The ideal candidate will combine operational excellence, empathetic people management, strong technical expertise including data architecture and data warehouse design, and experience in data management regulations such as GDPR and SOX to produce a highly productive data platform. This role requires a balance of business and technical acumen, with an ability to understand requirements and communicate with clarity to stakeholders in all groups. The Manager will need to coach and mentor a team of Data Engineers to establish best practices, set goals, and execute with a mind for continuous growth and improvement.

Responsibilities:

Manage and grow a team of data engineers to meet the long-term goals of the team and Bentley, building a fun and challenging team environment

Mentor and develop data engineers to their fullest potential and career success

Lead the day-to-day operations of the data engineering team utilizing an agile methodology

Design overall architecture across many different teams and disciplines including roadmap for Bentley\'s Data Architecture and Engineering systems

Manage overall cost of data platform and vendor relationships

Utilize collaboration and communication to partner with and lead different functional groups with Bentley to better understand what the business needs from the data engineering team

Facilitate and provide feedback for data engineers during weekly one on ones

Choose impactful and measurables goals for the data engineering team

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

Bachelor\'s degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (Master\'s degree is a plus)

3+ years of hands-on experience in a data role such as data engineering, data science, or data analytics

2+ years of experience in a supervisor or team lead position

Ability to interface with technical colleagues and business colleagues to achieve shared outcomes

Experience utilizing an agile methodology to provide results to the business

Able to create quarterly and yearly roadmaps for the Data Engineering team

Deep understanding of cloud data warehouses (i.e. Snowflake) or data lakehouses and best practices within the tools

Experience in data architecture and data modeling, including building efficient data warehouses

Familiarity with PowerBI and using it in a production setting

Experience in working within the software engineering best practices

Experience managing data and data systems within data regulations such as GDPR and SOX

Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements). The role requires communication with managers, peers and other colleagues of the company in person, and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.

This role does not require travel.
