The Opportunity
As Manager, you'll play a critical role in delivering client value, developing talent, and driving operational excellence. What You'll Do
Client Leadership
Prepare and review personal (T1), trust (T3), and corporate (T2) income tax returns
As required, complete the detailed review of assurance and non-assurance engagement files to ensure that the engagement / project is in accordance with the relevant professional standards and Firm policies
Apply industry and business knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address client issues
Team Development
Conduct or provide input into staff performance reviews
Develop the skills and potential of less experienced staff through supervision, coaching, mentoring, knowledge transfer, and internal training
Assign challenging work opportunities to support growth
Operational & Technical Excellence
Effectively manage and focus firm resources to ensure efficiency and quality
Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-focused environment
Promote process improvement and support a culture of learning
What You Bring
CPA, CA designation and university degree
Minimum 4 years post-certification public accounting experience, including reviewing NTRs, performing audit and review engagements, and first-level review of assurance engagements
Solid knowledge of ASPE and familiarity with ASPE NPO
Solid understanding of owner-manager tax concepts
Ability to prepare complex T2 tax returns and review simpler ones
Proficiency in Taxprep, Caseware, Quickbooks and/or Xero (asset)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with clients and team members
Self-starter mindset - proactive, dependable, and resourceful
