Position Overview

You possess the ability to understand multiple angles and you use your negotiating skills to facilitate open and transparent discussions by seeking common ground.
As our Manager, Community Relations, you\xe2\x80\x99ll play a crucial role in building relationships and trust with municipalities and leading engagement to support municipal energy and climate policy goals. This role will require you to maintain a deep awareness of the broader policy environment and provide advice on key areas of opportunities and challenges.

Be responsible for creating successful approaches to engage with municipalities to establish robust and long-lasting relationships.
Plan and execute meetings, events, and other activities to increase awareness of the company\xe2\x80\x99s solutions.
Collaborate with internal teams to align engagement efforts with broader business goals and priorities.
Monitor policy development at local, provincial and federal levels and identify potential opportunities and challenges
Resolution of any operational issues and support the organization in its operations and sustainment initiatives.
Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the community relations team to successfully advance engagement with municipalities.
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. In year 2, you will:
Refine and update engagement plans in response to the external environment
Deepen relationships with key municipal partners and stakeholders.
Lead and facilitate the negotiation/renewal of agreements with municipalities
Identify and execute opportunities to move engagement beyond transactional partnerships to a long-term working relationship philosophy. What it takes:
A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business administration, communications or other related disciplines from a recognized program, and a minimum of five years of recent and related experience and demonstrated success in strategic consultation and engagement.
A detail-oriented and analytical mindset with exceptional negotiating skills
A genuine and authentic personality that creates and builds trusting and lasting relationships.
A passion for learning, understanding and dealing with ambiguity and change
Strategic and able to understand the overall picture of any situation to achieve long term success of the organizations goals. Additional Information
This position will require evening and weekend work and travel away from the base office to attend meetings and deliver presentations etc. within the geographic area of coverage for both the electric and gas operations.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
