In your role, you will:

  • Lead a team of multidisciplinary communications advisors, curating media relationships and engagements on topics such as financial performance, Bombardier business jet products and services, sustainability, Bombardier Defense as well as local community initiatives.
  • Lead Bombardier crisis management and media analysis processes including managing supplier relationships for monitoring platforms.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Marketing and Government Affairs to develop and manage a calendar of pro-active public relations opportunities that enable Bombardier to illustrate the company's strategic plan and core values in the public sphere.
  • Advise, coach and accompany Bombardier executives or subject matter experts as part of public events, airshows or 1-on-1 interviews.
  • Respond to international media inquiries as Bombardier spokesperson or support direct team members in connecting journalists to internal subject matter experts or executives.
  • Write compelling copy, speeches, press releases and other content to help Bombardier tell its story across North America, Europe, The Middle East and Asia.
  • Revise, edit and approve media-facing documents and ensure approval processes are documented.
  • Evolve reputational KPIs, managing external firms that track survey and analysis progress, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Establish, track and report on the Public Relations team annual budget.
Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,
  • You have a passion for leadership, people and the impact strong communications can have in supporting large-scale organizations;
  • You have a background in storytelling with strong writing skills that can fit a complex idea into a handful of words;
  • You have demonstrated success as a strategic people-manager who is energized by change and driven by results;
  • You hold a passion for media, social media and any storytelling tools leaders employ in the public sphere;
  • You have a track record interacting with, and establishing lasting relationships with journalists
  • You have proactive, solution-driven, and detail-oriented reflexes.
  • You hold a bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, or the equivalent in years of experience;
  • You have at least 10 years of communications experience with a strong understanding of the mainstream media landscape in Canada and the U.S.
  • You have demonstrated initiative as well as excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • You have a proven ability to coach executives, peers and team members and provide candid counsel and act as a trusted advisor;
  • You have experience dealing with large-scale change in a matrixed environment;
  • You have excellent spoken and written communications skills in English and French
