Manager, Commercial Property Accounting
Location: Toronto, ON
Work Model: Hybrid (2-3 days in office)
Our client is growing their commercial real estate portfolio and is looking for a Manager, Commercial Property Accounting to build and lead their commercial accounting platform. This role is ideal for someone hands-on, process-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, build-phase environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and enhance commercial/retail property accounting processes and reporting.
Lead the implementation and optimization of the Yardi Commercial module.
Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Manage CAM/TMI, property tax, and utility recoveries.
Support lease interpretation, rent rolls, budgeting, and forecasting.
Train internal teams on accounting processes and system use.
Collaborate closely with property management, operations, and asset management.
Qualifications
5+ years of commercial or retail property accounting experience, including CAM/TMI recoveries.
Strong Excel skills and experience improving accounting processes.
Knowledge of HST on commercial leases; IFRS/ASPE familiarity.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
CPA and Yardi experience are strong assets.
