The Role at NFP
Our growing Mid-Market Commercial Team is seeking to hire a Team Manager who will work towards creating a trusting People First environment on an award-winning team by building trust & strong relationships for our Edmonton, Alberta office.
You will lead the charge of managing organizational service plans by driving optimal performance through employees and supporting units. You will also be tasked with overseeing the activities and performance of your service team by tracking team goals, setting individual goals & targets, facilitating regular one-on-one meetings and hosting bi-monthly commercial service team meetings.
What You'll Do
People Management*: Recruit, retain, and engage a high-quality team. Enhance the employee experience and promote high levels of morale through positive leadership, clear and regular communications, and timely employee recognition/feedback. Operations & Special Projects:Continuously maximize internal and external client satisfaction by ensuring company goals are strived for following NFP best practices and expectations. Manage and be a key contributor to special projects as assigned
Client Service & Market Relationship Management:Stay connected to day-to-day operations through active client management and be a lead the team through complex renewals/new business opportunities from end-to-end (submission, marketing, proposal, binding, invoicing, etc.). Effectively maximize relationships with carriers and service providers.
Team Leadership & Professional Development:Provide mentorship, training, education, guidance, monitoring of Team Members. Invest time in value-added training and development and apply the learning gained.
What you Bring
Level 2 Alberta License in good standing is required
Typically, 7+ years' experience in commercial insurance preferably in a brokerage environment
4+ years' experience in a leadership role, directly managing employees
Experience coordinating and supporting training programs and ability to work in a multi-site environment
Managerial courage and delegation skills; effectively prioritize, manage, and lead within the scope of authority and escalate decisions appropriately
Ethical, innovative, tolerant, and resilient with collaborative problem-solving ability
Professional communication and interpersonal skills demonstrating business intelligence
Positive and passionate attitude towards customer satisfaction and business achievements
Sound organizational time management and achievement orientation
Solid working knowledge of computer operating systems including industry software such as EPIC or a similar BMS
Professional insurance designation an asset (such as CAIB, CIP, CRM, etc.)
