Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Channel Engagement Team in Canada, leading the front-line channel go-to-market strategy and execution of retail growth initiatives (including customer acquisition, cross-sell and engagement programs), driving revenue and profitability targets for Retail products portfolio (Chequing, Savings, Investing, Credit Cards and Unsecured Lending). Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Key Accountabilities


  • Champions a customer focused culture to acquire new customers and deepen customer relationships with the bank leveraging broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Leads the go-to-market efforts of Retail Customer Growth initiatives through BNS non-digital Banking channels (Branches and Contact Center), across all retail products including deposits, investments, D2D, credit cards and unsecured lending initiatives/products/programs.

  • Partner with the front-line channels and Product partners to scope new growth initiatives, create and deliver communications, training, resources and employee engagement tactics, seeking opportunities to drive efficiencies and consistency in the go-to-market approach.

  • Build strong partnerships with ASE & Contact Center to formulate channel plans, support and optimization tactics that drive results.

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education and Other Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree (or equivalent diploma) required


  • 3+ years of experience in Channel Management, Channel Marketing preferred


  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of banking operations and processes, or relevant experience


  • Strong problem solving, conceptual thinking and financial analysis skills


  • Viewed as a trusted advisor with a successful track record in building and maintaining strong relationships at all levels of the organization


  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


  • Thorough knowledge of the Canadian banking financial services marketplace, customer segments, and the Bank’s relative competitive position within those market areas
