Your Opportunity:Alberta Health Services, Pharmacy Cancer Services is seeking to hire a Pharmacy Operations Manager, to work directly with the Pharmacy Manager, Arthur Child Cancer Centre (ACCC), the second Operations Manager, ACCC and report to the Director Pharmacy, Cancer Services. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization over the activities of the Arthur Child Cancer Centre Pharmacy drug distribution services and technical functions in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. These activities also will include the integration of various resources to carry out these activities. This position is also responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of the Arthur Child Cancer Centre Pharmacy.Description:The Operations Managers, Pharmacy Services, Arthur Child Cancer Centre (ACCC) are key leadership roles in Clinical Support Services and work directly with the Pharmacy Manager, ACCC and report to the Director Pharmacy, Cancer Services. The Operations Managers, Pharmacy Services, ACCC will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in order to provide leadership to the Arthur Child Cancer Centre Pharmacy. The Operations Managers, Pharmacy Services, ACCC are also responsible for: Activities focused on the integration and evaluation of site-specific and provincial medication distributions requirements to support the advancement of patient-oriented pharmaceutical care. Leadership to attain consistency and integration of Pharmacy technical functions and drug distribution across Cancer Care. the direct supervision of pharmacy technicians, assistants, and admin assistants. Resolving complex and challenging problems concerning human resources management in a unionized environment. The daily operation of a large, complex department which is affected by staff shortages adds to the complexity. Training of both pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, and admin assistants. Ensuring alignment of activity within the provincial Pharmacy Services program. the distribution of pharmaceuticals within a large geographic area with numerous facilities. The Operations Managers acts as an operations manager, human resources manager, coach, distribution specialist, OHS&W consultant, and workload measurement expert.

Required Qualifications:Must be a registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Alberta college of Pharmacy. A minimum of 5 years in a hospital pharmacy role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity (healthcare experience an asset). A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:Progressive leadership experience in a hospital pharmacy environment, including 2 to 3 years\' experience in a management role in hospital pharmacy operations. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to plan, organize and manage short- and long-term plans and projects and deliver customer-focused results. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees and other partners.
