Department Overview
The Strategy, Change, and Operational Excellence (SCOE) team is part of the Bank\'s Transformation, Enablement and Customer Experience (TECE) team. The SCOE team has responsibilities to support the creation of the TECE Strategy, oversee Governance & Control groups, and lead Performance Management and Productivity functions. Within the SCOE team there are also several Bank-wide Centres of Expertise, including Enterprise Change Management, Business Architecture, Enterprise Process Engineering, and Digitization and Automation.

As part of the SCOE team, the TECE Strategy, Planning & Support team mandate is to:

  • Build and lead a best-in-class Centres of Excellence accountable for the development and ongoing management of TECE strategy
  • Lead TECE Productivity and Performance Management and TECE Business Management Services to improve operational excellence and standardize approaches within the TECE organization
  • Develop, define and drive TECE strategy & optimize transformation, enablement, and customer experiences across the enterprise.
  • Lead the Portfolio Delivery Governance (PDG) function for TECE


The Manager, Portfolio Reporting is an integral member of the TECE PDG function, provides analysis and integrated portfolio reporting by partnering effectively with Project Delivery, Portfolio Management, and various stakeholders. This role
will report to the Senior Manager, Strategic Portfolio Planning. The Manager, Portfolio Reporting will play a key role supporting the Senior Manager in executing on the department roadmap. The roadmap focuses on driving improvements in Data Hygiene & Management, Portfolio Management, Governance & Reporting Rationalization, Financial Management, onboarding Enterprise Tools and creating a team focused on providing Insights & Analysis.

As the Manager, Portfolio Reporting, you will:
  • Elevate the project financials discipline within the Corporate Segment and Corporate PDG through innovation, process improvement and delivery excellence
  • Contribute to the TECE PDG team\'s accountability with respect to reporting requirements to the TECE Portfolio Investment Committee
  • Manage month and quarter-end financial processes (variance analysis, quarterly forecasting, fiscal planning) for a sizeable portfolio (over $300MM annual spend)
  • Conduct complex analysis and provide financial reports/dashboards for the portfolio and/or by project
  • Develop sustainable project financials reporting solutions for a wide audience with a focus on integrating Enterprise tools such as tools such as Tableau
  • Work closely with control partners (Governance, Segment Finance, Enterprise Project Finance, EPDE) to ensure alignment and input on reported numbers
  • Perform capacity analysis at the portfolio level (e.g., target vs. actual use of contract vs. FT staff) and work closely with management to develop recommendations
  • Lead training and knowledge sessions with delivery teams on project financials
  • This role requires a high degree of co-ordination with the Portfolio Managers, and with partners in the Business, Technology and Finance.

The successful candidate will be comfortable interacting with senior audiences and multiple stakeholders. This role is ideally suited for a motivated individual that is interested in developing leadership and communication skills in the areas of financial management, and strategic planning.

The following skills and experiences are critical to the success of this role:
  • Successful track record as a Senior Analyst with strong financial acumen
  • A keen eye for detail, with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be comfortable with numbers.
  • Experience with quantitative analysis, financial tracking, reporting, data-gathering, and documentation is a requirement
  • Able to negotiate deliverables and timelines, and cope with ambiguity and in an evolving environment
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, organizational and time management skills

Education:
University/college degree, CPA, or comparable postsecondary education/training, with exposure to Project Management being an asset

Technical skills:
  • MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • VBA/Macros
  • Clarity PPM
  • SQL and Tableau Reporting experience would be considered an asset
