Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world.:About the role:Sun Life Global Investments brings together the strength of Sun Life Financial with the best in asset management from around the world to offer a line-up of unique world class investment solutions.This position is part of the Strategy & Analytics business unit, which is accountable for the overall corporate strategy, business operating model, key initiatives portfolio, business intelligence, and Client Journey for SLGI. Reporting into the Director of Business Innovation, this role will assist with the implementation of business and technology initiatives aligned with SLGI\xe2\x80\x99s strategic objectives.The Manager, Business Innovation will work closely with stakeholders across the organization (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Product, etc.) to understand business needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and design solutions that drive value to the organization. This will involve conducting research and analysis, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and presenting recommendations to senior leaders.What will you do?

  • Consult with stakeholders across Investment (and Insurance) Solutions to identify functional needs and data requirements for business and technology projects and initiatives
  • Provide business technical expertise to drive forward and support the implementation of business and technology initiatives
  • Proactively assess gaps and inefficiencies across various business functions and propose appropriate solutions
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to resolve tool, technology and data issues
  • Work with IT to ensure that the business requirements are well understood and collaborate with IT for solution development
  • Facilitate/lead meetings and workshops to gather input from stakeholders and ensure perspectives are incorporated into solutions
  • Assist with development of change management strategies including training, communication and adoption plans
  • Continuously research and analyze competitors and the marketplace for emerging business process, systems and technology trends and recommending applicability within our business
What you need to succeed?
  • 5+ years experience implementing IT and business projects
  • Problem solving skills through the ability to understand what the issue is, define the pros and cons and make pragmatic recommendations related to complex issues.
  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and meeting facilitation skills with a focus on driving results.
  • Experience with CRM solutions, specifically Salesforce.com, Seismic, etc.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills including the extensive use of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Positive attitude and a strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize wide range of tasks.
  • Strategic thinking: The ability to think strategically, analyze complex information and develop innovative solutions that align with the organization\'s objectives.
  • Leadership: The ability to lead a team of consultants and analysts, inspire them to perform at their best, and provide direction and guidance as required.
  • Collaboration: Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the organization, building strong relationships and working towards a common goal.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present information and recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Analytical thinking: Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex data and information, identify trends and opportunities, and develop insights that drive innovation.
  • Change management: Experience in change management, including identifying and managing risks, developing communication plans, and ensuring successful implementation of new initiatives.
  • Technology expertise: A good understanding of the latest business trends and technologies, with experience in identifying and evaluating new technologies that can drive innovation and improve business performance.
Preferred skills:
  • University degree or equivalent
  • Experience in both the insurance and investment industries
  • Experience in Agile project delivery
  • Experience with analytics solutions
Unique requirements:
  • Travel between Toronto and Waterloo offices may occasionally be required

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
