Manager, Brand Strategy (Contract)
Capital One is seeking a Manager, Brand Strategy (Contract) to join our Brand team to support our mass brand campaigns and initiatives, as well as a market research function. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate on strategies that drive awareness & consideration for the Capital One Canada brand, and work with innovative advertising, media, and PR agency partners. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing campaigns - both the media and creative sides - and understand how brand marketing drives meaningful business results. \xe2\x80\x8b
Responsibilities:
Manage a high-performing team of associates, providing excellent coaching and leadership
Craft the Brand Team\xe2\x80\x99s go-to market strategy, ultimately shaping how the Capital One brand shows up in Canada in the short & long term
Collaborate with internal and external partners on crafting large-scale media plans and full-funnel strategies that effectively and efficiently meet business goals
Develop and execute omnichannel advertising campaigns that deliver on business objectives, while also producing breakthrough brand marketing
Work with customer data to identify marketable claims and deeper knowledge of our key segments to optimize marketing tests and strategies
Challenge our thinking on existing brand measurement plans and brand health tracking, enabling the team to effectively measure campaign success
Oversee market research team, whom is responsible for developing and executing custom research studies & roadmaps for both the Brand Team and extended business
Craft storytelling around program or research results & future strategies to secure buy-in from key stakeholders
Develop reports, synthesize data into actionable insights + recommendations for our campaigns to improve our results and optimize our collateral
Partner with cross-functional teams to develop tests that will inform the optimal way to market our products and services to current and future customers, driving advocacy and sustained engagement
Oversee a sizable brand management + research budget, which will involve close tracking, reporting, and forecasting on an ongoing basis
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in business, marketing, or a like field
5+ years of experience in a marketing, brand management, or agency role
5+ years of proven experience in omnichannel media strategy, planning, execution, and measurement
3+ years of people leadership experience
Proven experience in some or all of the following: brand strategy, creative campaign strategy, creative development, campaign project management, and/or campaign measurement
Familiarity with brand health measurement, market research and performance marketing measurement
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience self-directing and being able to switch between strategic and tactical initiatives regularly
Skilled in relationship management, ideally with experience managing inter-agency teams of 3 or more vendors
Advanced project management skills with the ability to coach direct reports on campaign project management excellence
Confidence to ask hard questions and push into uncharted territories \xe2\x80\x93 and not defaulting to the status quo before exploring new paths and quantifying risk / reward
Strong ability to drive right and left brain smarts \xe2\x80\x93 you value creativity but you can also think strategically to action insights
Experience \xe2\x80\x9cliving the values\xe2\x80\x9d of customer-centric marketing ie. putting consumer insights at the heart of campaign development and brand strategy work
Experience working directly with digital partners to develop and execute initiatives in-platform (ie. Google, Meta, third-party media providers, social media community platforms)
Strong communicator - both written and verbal - with the capacity to influence all levels of an organization
Proven track record of storytelling about brand marketing\xe2\x80\x99s ability to drive business results and deliver on wide ranging KPIs
