Job Title Manager, Analytics



What is the opportunity?

RBC is currently recruiting for the exciting role of Manager, Analytics. In this role, you will work directly with Product and Marketing business partners to fulfill the following critical roles:

  • Support information-based business decisions by identifying, understanding, capturing, organizing, presenting, and disseminating data trends.
  • Work with business partners to grow profitable relationships with our clients and create sustainable value for RBC shareholders.
What will you do?
  • Participate in strategy meetings to provide input, gather and document business requirements, and help formulate analytical framework.
  • Manage the process of defining RBC product universe, specifying success measures, testing hypotheses, and communicating value-added observations towards refined strategy and effective implementation of win-win solutions.
  • Bring data analyses to bear on the development of RBC product branding.
  • Seek out new ways to engineer and manufacture best-in-class standard reports to showcase insights and support tactics, participate actively in self and peer development relating to financial products, operational processes, relationship management, and technology enhancement.
  • Increase the standardization and efficiency of the daily/ monthly/ quarterly/ annual reporting.
  • Influence the approach to answering business questions with deep RBC product insights.
  • Manage day-to-day workflow and negotiate realistic timelines. Ensure compliance and privacy guidelines are strictly adhered to.
  • Learn and apply new businesses, techniques, and ideas.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
  • Solid working experience with very large relational databases and working experience with multiple querying tools such as native SQL, SAS, BI/Query, Queryman.
  • Proven technical experience with Tableau (desktop and server), UNIX and Windows integrated environments and ability to learn a new software or computer language in a short period of time.
  • Advanced SAS programming dealing with large data sets.
  • Attention to detail and applied data validation mechanisms.
  • At least 3 years working experience with financial products and services and their corresponding data.
  • Minimum successfully-completed undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or other quantitative discipline.
Nice-to-have:
  • Knowledge of Teradata or DB2 is definite asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional environment.
  • Experience with developing reports using OLAP tools.
