Janitor

position available at Coast Capri Hotel / Capri Center Mall.

The Janitor will ensure that public areas are clean, properly maintained and presented. The ideal candidate for this position is friendly, detail-oriented, and able to handle the physical demands of the job with effective communication.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs assigned duties, such as cleaning all public areas, taking out garbage, stripping and waxing floors,

Perform routine maintenance jobs and repairs in public areas

Follows established occupational Health & Safety procedures and policies when completing tasks

Ensures the security of the property, the Ambassadors, and guests when completing tasks

Promotes teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments

Provides exceptional customer service to guests by clearly communicating and resolving challenges to guest satisfaction

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

Previous janitorial experience is considered an asset

Highly proficient verbal comprehension and communication skills are required,

Demonstrates an ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, multi-functional environment

Required to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays

Ability to work well under pressure

Excellent time management skills

Must be able to speak and understand English well

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs unassisted

A self-starter with the ability to work independently; minimal supervision

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training is considered an asset
