Position Summary:

The Makerspace & Retail Coordinator is a dual-role, hands-on position responsible for the daily operations of both the

Neighbourly Ventures Makerspace

and the

Neighbour-Made retail store

. This individual will play a key role in fostering creativity and entrepreneurship among community members by organizing the makerspace, supporting creative production, and managing the retail storefront where wares are sold. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, and passionate about helping others bring their ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities:

Makerspace

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Oversee the organization, cleanliness, and safety of the makerspace Schedule makers for workspace time and track usage Submit approved orders and maintain organized inventory of supplies, tools, and materials Support community members in the creation of their wares for sale, offering guidance and troubleshooting as needed Assist makers with the use of equipment and tools (e.g., woodworking, crafting, screen printing, etc.) Create a welcoming, creative environment where community members feel supported and empowered in their work

Retail Store

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM / Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Staff and manage the retail store Receive and track new inventory from makers and print shop and makerspace Regularly update displays to highlight new and featured items Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-friendly storefront Provide excellent service to customers while representing the values of Neighbourly Ventures Support community members in presenting themselves in a professional manner

Qualifications:

Must be under 29 years of age or under Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Creative mindset with hands-on experience or interest in making, crafting, or using tools and equipment Experience in retail, customer service, or community engagement is an asset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to take initiative and work independently while supporting others A team player who enjoys working in a dynamic, people-centered environment
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
